As Conspiracy theories go, I've got one that has been mulling it's way in my head this morning that is both too diabolical and brilliant to possibly be true. Still I'm going to share it with my readers because it's just too fun to pass up.
Have any of you considered the possibility that former Press Secretary Scott McClellan was really a Democrat Mole? I mean just think about it. As the saying goes there's no better way to defeat an enemy than to defeat him from within. And we all know that the biggest Achilles heel of President Bush's administration has been an inability to communicate.
In addition, one of President Bush's best and worst traits is his dogmatic approach to loyalty. Therefore, simply because Scott McClellan was easily the worst Press Secretary in our lifetime, at least in recent memory, that would not be enough for Bush to fire the man as soon as it became obvious that he needed to be let go which in my opinion was after his first White House Press Conference.
I remember thinking at the time that I was sorely disappointed to see Ari Fleischer go but could hardly blame him for leaving as being a Press Secretary to a Republican President has got to be one of the most stressful jobs in the world, especially to a Republican President that dares to believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
In the beginning of McClellan's stint, after the bang-up job that Ari did, I suspect that some in the administration rationalized that of course McClellan looked and sounded ineffectual when you consider the stark contrast between him and Ari. Still, surely they had to realize in short order that McClellan was simply incapable of doing an even half-way decent job as the President's spokesperson.
Thus, dismissing any possibility that McClellan had something on someone, the only possible explanation of why he kept his job was because of Bush's loyalty flaw. It's rather ironic when you consider that apparently, McClellan himself has no such characteristic.
Of course, one of the arrows you could shoot in my theory is that wouldn't this be considered illegal? Well I'm no lawyer but I suspect that yes, it would be. However, even if it is, how many times do you ever hear about someone on the left actually being held accountable for their crimes? Besides, wouldn't McClellan be considered the ultimate whistle blower?
Then there's the thought that McClellan is simply too ignorant to have carried off such a scheme. Don't you remember the infamous Shoe Bomber? After all, thanks to that rather seemingly clueless terrorist, we now are subject to having to show the holes in our socks at airports.
Yes, yes, I know this is a rather far-fetched idea, but still, wouldn't it have been an ideal set-up for the Dem's? Who'da thunk a mere 7 years from the worst attack on American soil that most Americans would be so willing to negotiate with terrorists or at least to prefer defeat in Iraq to victory wherever this War against Terrorism takes us?
We live in an age where one of our elected officials can freely claim with no repercussions that John McCain's military background is a detriment instead of an asset. Is there really anything beyond the scope of possibilities these days?
As for Scott McClellan being a mole, if I were him, I think I would prefer folks to think of me as purposely digging holes from which my boss could never recover than simply thinking I'm really that incompetent.
Elusively yours, ilja

A WIFE FROM TENNESSEE Three men married wives from different states. The first man married a woman from Washington . He told her that she was to do the dishes and house cleaning. It took a couple of days, but on the third day, he came home to see a clean house and dishes washed and put away. The second man married a woman from Wyoming . He gave his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes and the cooking. The first day he didn't see any results, but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done and there was a huge dinner on the table. The third man married a girl from Tennessee. He ordered her to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed, and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything, but by the third day, some of the puffiness had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye, and his arm was healed enough that he could fix himself a sandwich and load the dishwasher.

Staff Sgt. Matt Maupin’s long road home ended Saturday in a blaze of yellow ribbons, the silent tribute of people who lined the roads, and the respect of thousands more who filed past his coffin at a public visitation . . .
“If four people showed up, that’s OK with me,” said Keith Maupin, the soldier’s father, as he took a mid-afternoon break outside the Civic Center, where many came up to him to shake his hand or give him a hug . . .
Matt Maupin became the face of the war in Iraq for thousands here and across the country in April 2004, when an Arab TV station aired a tape showing the Union Township soldier kneeling and surrounded by masked men carrying automatic rifles . . .
Four years and millions of prayers later, a tip from an Iraqi citizen led U.S. soldiers to the farm area northwest of Baghdad where Matt Maupin’s remains were found on March 20 . . .
Scoutmaster David Bacon said the boys of Troop 511 had been well aware of the story of Matt Maupin and wanted to pay their own tribute.
“I’ve talked to them many times about Matt,” said Bacon, whose cousin, Lance Cpl. David Kreuter, was killed in Iraq in 2005. “They understand it was the sacrifice of young men like Matt that gives us the freedom to meet every Monday night. There are places in the world where Boy Scouting is not allowed.”

We Owe Them So Much
There's a young man far from home, Called in time of war; Sent to defend our freedom On some distant foreign shore. On some distant foreign shore.
We pray You keep him safe, We pray You keep him strong, We pray You send him safely home ... For he's been away so long. For he's been away so long.
There's a young woman far from home, Serving U.S.A. with pride. Her every step is strong and sure, Courage in every stride. Courage in every stride.
We pray You keep her safe, We pray You keep her strong, We pray You send her safely home ... For she's been away too long. For she's been away too long.
Bless those who wait their safe return. Bless those who mourn the lost. Bless those who serve this country well, Never mind the cost. Never mind the cost.
God, Bless America!

An Email From God?
I got this in an email today and though it doesn't say who wrote it, I don't doubt these things could have happened.
'MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL'
You say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news On September 11, 2001. Neither will I. I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK..I am ready to go.' I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children. I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn't coming home that night. I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said. 'Of course I will show you the way home - only believe in Me now.' I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls. I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered. I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them. I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan ... I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news. Did you sense Me? I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me for the first time on the 86th floor. Some sought Me with their last breath. Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take my hand.'
Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me. But, I was there. I did not place you in the Tower that day. You may not know why, but I do. However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for Me? Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey for you. But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are 'ready to go.' I will be in the stairwell of your final moments. God

Americans are a "I want it now Society". Because of that they are averse to any risk and they cannot perceive the big picture. There have been no attacks in 7 years so they assume we are safe and do not realize the amount of work that has taken to keep us that way and assume 9/11 was a fluke, or even worse a government conspiracy.
I really think Scotty is too stupid to be a plant. I think Pres Bush thought he owed him something from his days as Governor ofTexas and would not admit that he was a complete bomb as a press secretary. Maybe he knew deep down that he was a wishy washy backstabber and was afraid to fire him. If that was the case, he was right.
