Man Who Sexually Assaulted 24 Women, Spared Jail As He Doesn't Speak English

A Romanian migrant walked free from court on Friday after admitting to sexually assaulting 11 of the 24 women he was accused of molesting because the judge ruled that prison would be "too hard" for him because he can't speak English. 22-year-old Constantin Barbutu was spared jail during sentencing at Hove Crown Court, UK, receiving only a 12-month suspended sentence.

Barbutu prowled the streets of coastal towns of Brighton and Hove in southern England late at night and slapped or groped the bottoms of women as they walked along the street before pedaling off into the night, earning him the moniker the "Brighton Bottom Slapper" as police searched for the culprit.

Around 24 women reported to have fallen victim to the "serial bottom slapper" between September 2016 and February 2017. Some of the victims say they were "terrified" by the ordeal as Barbutu trapped them down dark streets or circled them on his bike making "leering gestures. "One woman was reportedly left with a broken collarbone following a late-night attack.

According to the Daily Mail, the Romanian dishwasher admitted 11 charges of sexual assault, while ten other counts of sexual assault were ordered to lie on file. Handing him a suspended sentence Judge David Rennie said that if it wasn't for the fact he speaks no English and suffers from mental impairment problems, then he would be facing jail.

(Merely) slapping someone on the bottom? Yes, an offense to be sure, but not sure it's worthy of jail time. Whatever happened to the days when that would get you a good slap in the face in return and that was then end of it?

Why does everything have to be treated as if it's a "federal offense" these days???

Agreed, know days everything is Sexual Assault. Smacking someones ass is not Sexual Assault, not even close. One woman did end up with a busted collar bone and he should face some time over that though. Like you said, getting a good smack, a couple well placed knees, or maybe a visit from a few relatives would put a stop to this crap real quick. Also, not one word about deporting his ass. Guarantee you though he didn't do this crap back in Romania.

If Hillary cornered me in a dark alley and stripped naked, Id consider that sexual assault even without slapping of my bottom. Id be scarred for life. Id want Hillary to go to jail for that.

Isn't one of the main points of prison that it is unpleasant enough that it deters people from committing crimes because they don't want to go to prison?

Such is the state of Merry Old England these days. And you can't defend yourself or you run the risk of being charged with assault yourself. :coffeenpc:

Not this **** again. I have posted on this myth many times here. Not only do I know its bunkum, I know it from personal experience, having been burgled and then attacked and stabbed in 2008. Since when, the self defence laws have been changed twice to the advantage of the populace. Hell, once in a while, we even kill burglars and attackers.

State of Limeyland?. No idiot judges in the glorious US of A?. OJ and Casey Anthony Brits then?. If you came to Merry Old England, and Scotland, Wales and NI, you'd be shocked. At how normal and sensible the vast majority of the UK actually is. Stop taking your ideas of the UK from something you read online, written by someone who doesn't live in the UK either.
