Mitt Romney admits to authoring fake Twitter account
By Joe Dwinell | joed@bostonherald.com | Boston Herald

<too short to excerpt>

President Trump is an unabashed Twitter machine-gunner — Mitt Romney is a sniper.

The former Massachusetts governor, GOP presidential nominee and now Utah senator has admitted to being behind the stealth Twitter handle @qaws9876 using the nom de plume Pierre Delecto.

Romney quickly made the account private after confirming to an Atlantic reporter that he was the man behind the Twitter curtain. The Herald's request to join the top secret account is "pending." (That appeal will probably remain in Twitter limbo for eternity.)

"C'est moi," Romney told the Atlantic when asked if he was, in fact, the owner of the account that was used to knock Trump and pump up his exploits. (C'est moi is French for "that's me," or "this is me," or "it's me" or Bingo.)

Romney, basically, pleaded guilty as only the erudite senator can.

Let the countdown begin on when Trump will fire back, but so far its crickets from the commander in chief at both @POTUS and @realDonaldTrump.

Romney's admission made "Pierre Delecto" a top "All day trending today" Twitter hit. But why not keep the account open for all to see? Is he hiding something?

Romney is one of the top Republican critics of Trump, knocking him for his dealings with Ukraine and withdrawing U.S. troops from Syria.

The last bogus political alter ego that went as viral was Carlos Danger, Anthony Weiner's fake online identity he used for sexual chats with women other than his wife Huma Abedin — who was Hillary Clinton's go-to assistant during the 2016 presidential election.

Having his shadowy Twitter account exposed has lit up social media this morning. Stay tuned, this story isn't going away…

You know who Romney reminds me of?

That other good singing cowboy in Rustler's Rhapsody (a waaaay under appreciated movie if you ask me).

The other singing cowboy was Bob Barber. Who mirrors Tom Berringer at first in movie cliches. But near the end we find out the guy is a total jerk.

"I'm a lawyer you idiot!"

I had to doubletake Rustler's Rhapsody like Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Three Amigos, and even Silverado... growing up on Mel Brooks films and wondering what Woody Allen's problem was.

LOVE "Rustler's Rhapsody". Great movie. And I agree it's very underrated and unappreciated. Just like "Johnny Dangerously".

Ha! Wise Guys, now you’re talking. As good as Devito and Piscopo we’re on that flick Captain Lou stole the show as Frankie the Fixer. I remember seeing that movie for the first time I laughed so hard I couldn’t breathe.
