I post rarely to my own blog, so when I do I check back on it a lot to see if there are any responses.
I noticed today for the first time that google.com was visiting.
Is this something that come with the territory, or what?
Not sure that I like or dislike, the idea.
Just wondering.

That is a Google webbot that has always been here, but was previously invisible. There are others besides Google as well. If you go to the "Forums" page and scroll down to active users list, the bots are the ones in black standard type that you can't click on.

OK, knew about all the various bots cruising about, in fact seems that often as not there are more of the on site, as guests, then members.
Didn't know they cruised through the blogs.
Still not sure if I like that or not.
Guess I'll have to be even more careful about what/where I post.
I often tend to be thinking that I am posting "to" folks here on the site.
Even though I know that on the site is on the web is available to the world!

Yes, "They" are always watching so it is best to choose your words carefully.

How do I approved guest posts to my blog? This must have been a first that I did not need to delete since the last update as I can figure it out. It's still in pink and I don't see an approve button. http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r315/elusivelyyours/smilies%205/huh.gif

Thanks,
ilja

Did you figure it out? I didn't see any pink comments.

The pink comments are invisible to everyone except the bog's owner. And I've got a bunch I need to "approve" too. Only I don't know how to do it. I can delete comments. But I have some guest comments (and I know I've figured this out once--because I just approved a guest troll in my most recent blog. But I can't remember how I did it.)

I believe I just hit a bunch of buttons over and over.

Chris told me. Here's his instructions. Now I'll know how to delete a whole bunch of spam at once too, which is cool.

  • First, go to "My Settings" up at the top right.
  • Then go to blogs, but be careful you don't click on the "Blogs" on the header--click the one below it.
  • Then, on your right, you should see the five most recent posts.
  • Click the box next to the one you want approved
  • then scroll down to the bottom and choose approve from the drop down menu.

What page do I have to have open to see "my settings" at the top right? It doesn't seem to be in my blog or on any other page in RN. (I know I'm missing something really obvious.)

Click on the arrow next to your name from any page, I believe. I can see it from here. If I look real close, I think I can also see Russia. Then again, that may just be a spot on my glasses.

OH the arrow pointing downward at the top of every page. Thanks, ilja. (Say hi to my brain for me.)

Do you know how I go back further than the last five? Thanks.

Once you are in your Blog Settings click on the OPTIONS button in YOUR CURRENT BLOGS section

and choose MANAGE COMMENTS.

Your brain says hi back. It was surprised it was here for a change.

Thank you. I just spent a great deal of time "cleaning up" my comments. (But then I realized I have over 300 pages of comments, so I stopped. Nobody but me sees the "pink" spam comments any how, right?

I don't know. Tell me what blog they are in and I'll go look.

On 2nd thought, why bother? If anyone can see them it's probably just the mods.

I got to at least page 19 and was approving comments from 2009 when I decided the rest of the spam can just stay for now.
Whew!
