Scotsman, I'm surprised you didn't notify us about the passing of Zienia Merton on September 14.

There are UK celebs I don't post here, even some famous ones, as they aren't well known in the US/Can. This lady was tbh an obscure 70s actress.

Can't believe I missed this, 11 days ago:

Paul Allen, co-founder of Microsoft, owner of the Seattle Seahawks, The Portland Trailblazers, part-owner of the Seattle Sounders, founder of the Allen Institute for Brain Science, Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Institute for Cell Science, Stratolaunch Systems, and Apex Learning, winner of numerous awards and honors, and 44th richest man in the world (20+ billion.)

RIP Paul.

Even I know who Stan Lee was. Back when I was a little kid I used to read Spiderman comic books.

R.I.P. Mr. Lee.

I heard this on the radio this morning.

Yep, Spiderman was one of the few comic books my Mom would lets us read other than DC and Disney or Looney Tunes.

Sad to see him go, but he had a 95 year run. Not bad.

RIP, Stan.

ETA: Sheldon's Restraining Order From Stan Lee doesn't mean much now.

RIP Mr. Lee, as a kid I was always a Marvel over DC comics kind of kid.

And RIP Douglas Rain, 90, the man who voiced HAL in 2001 and 2010, the perfect voice for an AI that's never been equaled let alone surpassed.

LOL. Yup, Sheldon will be both happy and sad today.

And yeah, I was much more into Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck and their pals, plus Archie comics, Dennis the Menace, etc. But when I wanted "superhero" stuff, Spiderman was my choice. He was always cooler than the DC crowd (Superman, Batman, etc.)

2001: A Space Odyssey - One of the few sci-fi movies I ever liked.

R.I.P. Mr. Rain.

Ever watch the 1982 "Blade Runner" Monty? My favorite scifi movie ever, though 2001 is a close 2nd.

I think I tried to sit through it once. My brother is much more heavily into sci-fi than I am, and often tries to show me his favorites. But it just didn't capture my attention enough to remember much about it.
