The War on Babies

Today, with Rick Santorum dropping out of the race, those who have been waging a war on babies have scored another victory. Since abortion became legal, there have been approximately 50 million abortions performed in the United States.

"According to the Guttmacher Institute, there were 1.21 million abortions performed in the United States in 2008, the most recent year for which data is available. This amounts to 3,322 abortions per day." link

But hey, what's another million innocent babies being killed in the name of convenience as long as we get a republican in the White House? Who cares if he was for abortion before he was against it before he was for it and against it again? At least, he can win those invaluable moderate voters and won't embarrass so many republican voters by really meaning it when he claims to be pro-life.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am bitter today. But hey bitter is better than apathetic which is what I will be in the coming months.

I don't know about you but just the thought of another baby moving it's body away from the poison or vacuum or scissors just does something to me in a way that knowing I'm going to lose my freedom at a slower pace than before just can't absolve.

I'm also perplexed as to why so few Americans seem to recognize that someone without the moral character to give a hoot about innocent babies losing their lives for nothing can not be trusted in matters even less life threatening? If you don't know that it is wrong to kill an innocent baby regardless of it's location and level of development, then what kind of moral compass do you have anyway?

Yes, I've been there. I once was pro-abortion and staunchly so. Of course, back then we did not have the internet and there were not pro-life groups or people who have experienced both giving and receiving abortions to tell the truth about it. Nowadays, the only real excuse is that folks don't want to know the truth else they would be seeking out the real stories and pictures of the aborted babies.

Speaking of pictures of aborted babies, I thought about that today when I heard the case about folks wanting to make tobacco companies show graphic pictures on their packaging so that smokers will get the message of how dangerous cigarette smoking might be. And yet, there is no might about the dead babies but everyone, even most pro-life folks think it's distasteful to show pics of these aborted babies. Babies really do die when they are aborted. Well most of them do anyway.

Yes, I know Obama wanted even the surviving babies to be killed and yes I'm against him. I know where that leads.

But if you want me to think about where that line of thinking leads, why won't you think about where my line of thinking leads when it comes to the innocent aborted babies?

Forget the War on Women. I'm more concerned about the War on Babies. Paying someone to kill your baby is a lot worse than giving birth. Pretending it is not happening if only to win an election is not going to bring our country back. If anything, it is going to make us not worth saving.

Elusively yours,
ilja

I'm with you 100% on Disappointment Blvd.

However, I'm afraid for the lives of my already born children if Obama gets another four years. Dude is going to start a race war.

I'm going to be a good soldier again, but like you, I don't think I can muster a whole lot of enthusiasm.

Should've known.

Why is it that you can see every little mistake in someone else's writings but you never see your own until after you hit publish?

Well, I'm bitter AND disgusted, so meh!!! And angry. I'm so angry at the GOP right now that I just don't think I'll be able to vote for Mr. Obama-lite. I keep trying to visualize myself in the voting booth touching the screen next to O'Romney, and I just can't do it. My stomach churns, my fingers curl back away from the imaginary screen... Ugghhhhh! The slugs in my garden have more moral fiber and backbone than Mitt Romney. I heard today that the Mittens is going to try reach out and sell himself to women. Yay! That probably means he'll swing back to his home on the left since according to the powers that be in both parties, socially conservative women like me either don't exist or are too busy trying to find our false teeth after having sex with our first cousins to make it to the polls. I wonders if Mittens can achieve his number one life goal without the toothless inbred troglodyte vote? <_<

 I loved your post. I love your passion and moral character. Now if he would only choose you as a running mate, I might could do it.

Yes, we all know exactly what 'reaching out to women' means and it is the exact opposite of what I wrote about.

I just added more to my comment, Ilja. I'm on a bitter roll!!

On a happier note, the large check that I would have sent to the RNC this year will now go to our local crisis pregnancy shelter. Ilja, you would love this place and the people who run it. I wished for a shelter just like the one we now have during all of those years I volunteered at Birthright. Our shelter gives the women, their unborn children, and their born children a home, moms and others volunteer to teach them life skills, babysitting is provided so that can go to school...With two new babies, I don't have time to help them, but I will enjoy presenting my friend with a really big check for the shelter. Ever since Obama was elected, I planned to give as much time & money as we could spare to help elect a conservative; unfortunately there is no conservative in this race now. Romney can buy his way into the presidency without Mr. Stain's hard-earned cash. So, MEH and bah humbug to Mr. Romney and the RNC! Screw politics, I'll try to help save the world one baby at a time now.

Now that is putting your money where your mouth is. It does sound wonderful and something I could get behind totally. Does the place have a website?

I did catch your extra remark in your last post. You are on a roll.

Here is a link to a newspaper article and this is their website. If you look at Photo #27 from the 2010 Summer Soiree, you see me, Mr. Stain, and my friend Rhonda. Mr. Stain is the only man in the pic, I'm wearing a black sweater and a crucifix, and my friend is the blonde lady with the "big guns." And she looks like that after having eight children! The National Director for Forty Days for Life and Virginia's uber-pro-life Attorney General are in the pics too---they've both come to the last two summer fundraisers. I haven't tried to meet our AG though--I'm usually too busy eating (through a straw!)and chatting with all of the nice toothless pro-lifers!! :P

Thanks so much for the link. I would like to donate when I can and this way I can just save the link.

ilja's Corny Corner

A Doctor, A Lawyer, A Little Boy And A Priest
A doctor, a lawyer, a little boy and a priest were out for a Sunday afternoon flight on a small private plane. Suddenly, the plane developed engine trouble. In spite of the best efforts of the pilot, the plane started to go down. Finally, the pilot grabbed a parachute, yelled to the passengers that they had better jump, and then he bailed out.

Unfortunately, there were only three parachutes remaining. The doctor grabbed one and said "I'm a doctor, I save lives, so I must live," and jumped out.

The lawyer then said, "I'm a lawyer and lawyers are the smartest people in the world. I deserve to live." He also grabbed a parachute and jumped.

The priest looked at the little boy and said, "My son, I've lived a long and full life. You are young and have your whole life ahead of you. Take the last parachute and live in peace."

The little boy handed the parachute back to the priest and said, "Not to worry, Father. The 'smartest man in the world' just took off with my back pack."

John Mauldin relates the details of a conversation he had with John Boehner, the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

At the :50 Maudlin describes Boehner telling him that Obama has,
“…balls made out of marshmallows…”

If that is true, why do we see Boehner continually backing down and rolling over while Obama stands firm and never compromises?

NEVER FORGET!

Staff Sgt. Matt Maupin’s long road home ended Saturday in a blaze of yellow ribbons, the silent tribute of people who lined the roads, and the respect of thousands more who filed past his coffin at a public visitation . . . “If four people showed up, that’s OK with me,” said Keith Maupin, the soldier’s father, as he took a mid-afternoon break outside the Civic Center, where many came up to him to shake his hand or give him a hug . . . Matt Maupin became the face of the war in Iraq for thousands here and across the country in April 2004, when an Arab TV station aired a tape showing the Union Township soldier kneeling and surrounded by masked men carrying automatic rifles . . .Four years and millions of prayers later, a tip from an Iraqi citizen led U.S. soldiers to the farm area northwest of Baghdad where Matt Maupin’s remains were found on March 20 . . .Scoutmaster David Bacon said the boys of Troop 511 had been well aware of the story of Matt Maupin and wanted to pay their own tribute.“I’ve talked to them many times about Matt,” said Bacon, whose cousin, Lance Cpl. David Kreuter, was killed in Iraq in 2005. “They understand it was the sacrifice of young men like Matt that gives us the freedom to meet every Monday night. There are places in the world where Boy Scouting is not allowed.” http://i147.photobuc.../3yqo3h0.gifPFC Keith Matthew MaupinCaptured in IraqApril 9, 2004

We Owe Them So Much

http://i147.photobuc.../troopsspin.gifNever Mind the Cost by c.m.steppe ©2001 There's a young man far from home, Called in time of war; Sent to defend our freedom On some distant foreign shore. On some distant foreign shore. We pray You keep him safe, We pray You keep him strong, We pray You send him safely home ... For he's been away so long. For he's been away so long. There's a young woman far from home, Serving U.S.A. with pride. Her every step is strong and sure, Courage in every stride. Courage in every stride. We pray You keep her safe, We pray You keep her strong, We pray You send her safely home ... For she's been away too long. For she's been away too long. Bless those who wait their safe return. Bless those who mourn the lost. Bless those who serve this country well, Never mind the cost. Never mind the cost. God, Bless America!

An Email From God?

I got this in an email today and though it doesn't say who wrote it, I don't doubt these things could have happened.'MEET ME IN THE STAIRWELL' You say you will never forget where you were when you heard the news On September 11, 2001. Neither will I. I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room with a man who called his wife to say 'Good-Bye.' I held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it is OK..I am ready to go.' I was with his wife when he called as she fed breakfast to their children. I held her up as she tried to understand his words and as she realized he wasn't coming home that night. I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said. 'Of course I will show you the way home - only believe in Me now.' I was at the base of the building with the Priest ministering to the injured and devastated souls. I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He heard my voice and answered. I was on all four of those planes, in every seat, with every prayer. I was with the crew as they were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the believers there, comforting and assuring them that their faith has saved them. I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan ... I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news. Did you sense Me? I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me for the first time on the 86th floor. Some sought Me with their last breath. Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me. But, I was there. I did not place you in the Tower that day. You may not know why, but I do. However, if you were there in that explosive moment in time, would you have reached for Me? Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey for you. But someday your journey will end. And I will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are 'ready to go.' I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.
