Sen. Claire McCaskill’s (D-MO) net approval rating among Missourians dropped seven points across the third quarter of 2018, according to Morning Consult‘s quarterly tracking of approval ratings for every U.S. senator.
McCaskill, whose net approval rating was +8 in both the first and second quarters of 2017, is now 11 points underwater. That’s a 19-percentage point drop in McCaskill’s net approval over 18 months – a staggering fall for a senator that was once more popular than unpopular among her constituents.
Here’s how her approval ratings have tracked, quarter to quarter:
- Q1 2017: McCaskill 47-39 (+8)
- Q2 2017: McCaskill 46-38 (+8)
- Q3 2017: McCaskill 42-39 (+3)
- Q4 2017: McCaskill 41-41 (+0)
