Mueller May Have Been A Witness In Russia Investigation, Gregg Jarrett Says

Washington Examiner
by Daniel Chaitin
Updated Jun 27, 2019, 05:34 PM

Excerpt:

Robert Mueller may have been required to disqualify himself from the Russia investigation, according to Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett.

Discussing Mueller's hearing next month, Jarrett said a "very important" question will be whether Mueller should have accepted the special counsel job in the first place because of an interview he had in May 2017 before he was appointed to head the Russia inquiry.

"On May 16th, [2017], Mueller interviewing to replace Comey, isn't it true that you discussed with the president in the Oval Office, with two witnesses there, the reasons why the president fired James Comey?" Jarrett said Wednesday on Fox News. "If the answer is yes, we did discuss it, that means under the regulations, Mueller was required to disqualify himself and say, 'I can't take the job' because he's a witness in his own case. You can't be a prosecutor and a chief witness simultaneously. So that's very important."

In introducing Jarrett, host Sean Hannity said his guest was told, "They did discuss it, meaning Mueller was a witness in his own case. Required to disqualify himself."

The question lends itself to President Trump's longstanding condemnation of the Russia investigation as a "witch hunt" and dubious claims that Mueller had conflicts of interest that could have made him biased.

See two ways this will go, either the Dems will demand another investigation cause Mueller was tainted by his involvement (they will spin it as Mueller was a dupe and the original investigation was a ruse instigated by Pres Trump) or Congress with its braintrust (Pelosi, Schumer, and other assorted POS) start its own investigation to grind the govt to complete stop until Pres Trump resigns.

This will be the excuse the use to start another investigation, or they'll ignore it (I think the latter). But the temptation to get another special prosecutor will be there, but with AG Barr that either won't happen or he'll appoint someone who will dig into their malfeasance more. I predict if they acknowledge this at all they'll use it as further justification for the House to run rampant with "investigations" aka witch hunts.

Trump, he turned me into a newt!!! I got better...

What the hell is the difference at this point? The investigation is closed.

Aside from that, Mueller's interview wasn't part of the investigation for Mueller to be a case witness. Trump didn't tell him anything he didn't tell others, including the "2 others" in the room.
