How about a song that (no kidding) SAVES lives from a medical condition? They use this one in CPR training:

And now, a public service announcement courtesy of American Heart Assocation...

The American Heart Association estimates that ~90,000 lives are saved each year by CPR but that up to 200,000 could be if enough people were properly trained. Less that half the people that could benefit from CPR actually get it.

FWIW, another song that has the right beat for CPR is this one. LOL.

I will however nominate it as appropriate for Fidel's passing. It's just a shame he didn't die from THAT medical condition... "lead poisoning leading to extreme hypovolemia".

And I'd be remiss if I didn't post at least one Pink Floyd song.

Pink Floyd. Definitely. See my prior post

The Free Clinic

Because what you can pick up in the so-named "districts' DEFINITELY called for a trip to the "Free Clinic" back in the days. Well, that was THEN. These days, the next song up should be considered.

Springsteen's Streets of Philadelphia seems to cover it.

I've nothing to add to ANY of those. And full credit to Natalie Merchant (10,0000 Maniacs) and Rob Thomas (Matchbox 20).

Yeah, I just HAD to throw 1910 Fruitgum Co in there. My aunt was their #1 Fan.... Who also enlightened me to what their songs "Yummy Yummy Yummy (I got love in my tummy)" and "Sticky Sticky" were REALLY about. (But, even without her help, I'd kinda already guessed what their song "Mary Wanna Go Round With Me." meant. LOL)

You know I like to leave the obvious ones for you. :coolshades:

Well it's the best one, LOL, not just the most obvious! I mean, it's impossible NOT to tap your foot while listening to it.

Have you listened to Phantom Limb?

I'm listening right now. And yeah, it's very good. I'd never heard of it (or them), but I like it.

Tell me, which is the name of the band, and which is the name of the song? Is it "Tourniquet the song by Phantom Limb the band"? Or is it "Phantom Limb the song by Tourniquet the band"? The words are unintelligible (at least to my impaired-hearing ears), so I have no way of knowing.

Tourniquet is the band. I could have made the whole list of just their songs. The drummer used to sell surgical equipment.

Many wonderful additions above. Does this qualify: "Love is the Drug" by Roxy Music, also covered by Grace Jones

Of course David Bowie: "All the Madmen"

World's Shortest Movie Reviews
American Sniper: Bradly Cooper=Best Actor
The Arroyo: Had a Pureflix feel to the acting, but well shot. Great conservative movie.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies: As usual, the third installment is the best--having an ending really helped.
The Maze Runner: The perfect metaphor for moving to Detroit.
Dumb and Dumber To: More jokes. Cruder jokes. Someone gets hooked on crack.
Snowpiercer: Joe Biden's idea of heaven. Everyone on the Earth living on a train. Captain America admits he was going to eat Billy Elliot.
Hunger Games: Catching Fire: This is what the world would look like without college football.
Interstellar 2001:A Space Odyssey with a soul. You will get very thirsty, so hydrate before viewing.
When the Game Stands Tall Proves my theory that it's worse when you win.
Guardians of the Galaxy Make a fun adventure movie about space and make a ton of money. Who knew? I mean, besides that Lucas guy.
Blended I don't get the "Billy Madison is genius, Blended is crap" review. It's as good as any other Sandler movie.
Mom's Night Out Hilarious. You will laugh unless you drive a black BMW and watch sunsets at the golf course.
The Amazing Spiderman 2 This series is still better than the Toby McGuire one. I actually cared if Gwen Stacy died.
Odd Thomas I understand the critics who didn't like the uneven tone. Way uneven. Still worth watching on Netflix.
Star Trek Into DarknessGood movie. Please, for the love of tribbles, let old Spock die.
Grown Ups 2 Critics, attack. Whatever you want to say about this one, I'm okay with it.
Thor: The Dark World Still very, very good. But I'd like an entire Thor movie set just in Asgard.
