RightNation.US: All time Greatest Song About Hunger - RightNation.US

Rich, bored, and stupid always trumps hunger:

Quote

Anti-hunger advocates and agriculture groups are criticizing Gov. Andrew Cuomo's opposition to legislation that would give farmers a tax break for donating surplus fruits, vegetables and other locally grown products to food banks to address New York state's growing hunger problem.

The Democratic governor vetoed the bill this week. It's the second year the bill has passed the Legislature only to be blocked by Cuomo. He says that while he supports the idea, the measure would reduce state revenue and should be handled in the state budget process.

Okay, I put one of my own songs on the list. It's not a finished product, but I think it has potential. When I learn to play guitar, it'll be as good a Delta Blues song ever written in this century.

5. Hunger Strike--Temple of the Dog

4. Hungry Like the Wolf--Duran Duran

3. Hungry Heart--Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band

2. Red Beans--Hard Right Mindcleaner

1. In the Ghetto--Elvis Presley

Hunger Strike for sure. For me TotD was the best of 90's grunge when I was in high school, and I still have their CD in my car. I guess Cornell and Vedder still perform some of their songs when they happen to be at each other's concerts

Savoy Truffle by The Beatles! One of the Beatles' most underrated songs, in my opinion (in other words a great song but was never a "hit" and never received much airplay.) Unfortunately, search as I might, I just couldn't find a decent version from YouTube to post here. I dunno if it has something to do with copyright conflicts or whatever, but every version I saw at YouTube was somebody's cover version or a (badly) re-mastered version or a "training" version or whatever. I couldn't find one that faithfully presented it as it appeared originally on the White Album. Aaarrrggghhh. Best I could do was this - A 30-second EXCERPT that sounds like it hasn't been f****d with too much.

Love the Nixon references.

That's me singing and trying to play. The drums are a track, though. Glad you liked it.

World's Shortest Movie Reviews
American Sniper: Bradly Cooper=Best Actor
The Arroyo: Had a Pureflix feel to the acting, but well shot. Great conservative movie.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies: As usual, the third installment is the best--having an ending really helped.
The Maze Runner: The perfect metaphor for moving to Detroit.
Dumb and Dumber To: More jokes. Cruder jokes. Someone gets hooked on crack.
Snowpiercer: Joe Biden's idea of heaven. Everyone on the Earth living on a train. Captain America admits he was going to eat Billy Elliot.
Hunger Games: Catching Fire: This is what the world would look like without college football.
Interstellar 2001:A Space Odyssey with a soul. You will get very thirsty, so hydrate before viewing.
When the Game Stands Tall Proves my theory that it's worse when you win.
Guardians of the Galaxy Make a fun adventure movie about space and make a ton of money. Who knew? I mean, besides that Lucas guy.
Blended I don't get the "Billy Madison is genius, Blended is crap" review. It's as good as any other Sandler movie.
Mom's Night Out Hilarious. You will laugh unless you drive a black BMW and watch sunsets at the golf course.
The Amazing Spiderman 2 This series is still better than the Toby McGuire one. I actually cared if Gwen Stacy died.
Odd Thomas I understand the critics who didn't like the uneven tone. Way uneven. Still worth watching on Netflix.
Star Trek Into DarknessGood movie. Please, for the love of tribbles, let old Spock die.
Grown Ups 2 Critics, attack. Whatever you want to say about this one, I'm okay with it.
Thor: The Dark World Still very, very good. But I'd like an entire Thor movie set just in Asgard.
