Legendary Raiders wide receiver. RIP to one of the true NFL greats.

:(

#21! I was one of his biggest fans when he played for the Raiders. May he rest in peace.

His whole pro career was with the Raiders, wasn't it? I don't recall him ever playing on any other NFL team.

Yep, dyed-in-the-wool Raider (Oakland and Los Angeles), God bless him.

When my niece was a little girl, she met him and asked him to sign a picture to me. I still have it on a table in my living room.

One of my favorite books of Morrison is Song of Solomon. May she rest in peace.

I know he already has his own thread. But he needs a mention here too, just in case somebody compiles a list at the end of the year:

Peter Fonda.

RIP

Valerie Harper died. Anyone remember her?

Oddly enough, the thing I remember most about her was when she was presenting at some awards show and was shamelessly overdoing the Hollywood air-kissing schmooziness when she introduced Kenny Rogers (yes, that singer, of all people) as, "The bee-yooooooooooo-tiful Kenny Rogers."

Anyway, RIP.

I was surprised to see this today because I thought she died years ago.

The guy should have been executed back in '79 or so.

And I've heard that the people of Zimbabwe already have a design for a suitable shrine above his grave...

Aw dang...:(...I remember Carol Lynley. Mostly I suppose from The Poseidon Adventure, but of course she was in lots of other things.

RIP, Carol.

:(

I remember her in Return to Peyton Place and one of those HP Lovecraft stories, The Shuttered Room.
Also the Poseidon Adventure, of course. She sang Morning After, which was great, but her character was annoying throughout the movie.

Beautiful lady.. RIP

Being a Brit, I will mention a film Americans may not know as well, but is a classic:

Bunny Lake is Missing, the great 1965 film with her and Olivier.

I do remember that movie. But I admit it's really mostly because (as I recall) the pop group "The Zombies" appears in it too.
