WATCH: Northam Refers to Slaves as 'Indentured Servants'

Article:

Blackface-wearing Democrat Governor of Virginia Ralph Northam kept digging himself a deeper hole on CBS's "Face the Nation," continuing possibly the worst string of public relations work in the recent history of American politics.

Host Gayle King pressed Northam on what she described as a "very difficult week for [Northam] and state of Virginia." She opened the floor to Northam, asking him where he wanted to begin, and immediately he launched into a historical tirade, which quickly derailed

"We are now at the 400-year anniversary — just 90 miles from here in 1619. The first indentured servants from Africa landed on our shores in Old Point Comfort, what we call now Fort Monroe, and while—" he said before King cut him off.

"Also known as slavery," King said.

"Yes," Northam replied sheepishly.

And the hits just keep on coming!
Using his language, quite a few of our fore fathers could be considered "indentured servants".

WaPo poll says 60% of blacks support him still.

Unless people think they just made that up.

Hard to understand how someone can confuse slavery with indentured servitude. It is not like 17th century captives were told to sign a contract guaranteeing freedom for their descendants by 1865.

It was a long term contract.

Come on people. Don't you know that the word "Slavery" is no longer acceptable? It makes people feel uncomfortable and must be replaced. "Indentured servant" is much more acceptable.

It may be true but I take wapo polls with a grain of salt...the size of Rhode Island!

Was any mention made of the Irish and Scottish men, women and children who were shipped as slave labor by the English to the Colonies?

Or are the only slaves ever acknowledged of the darker persuasion and nobody EVER mentions WHO SOLD THEM to the Europeans in the first place?

Or CONTINUE to traffic in slavery at this very moment in Africa?

Oh, that's right, the media doesn't do their due diligence either looking up historical facts or reporting current events in lieu of perpetuation an agenda.

Carry on.

I would have thought that the "thought police" would consider this comment a gift.

But Rush played this on his show today and the CBS people, Gayle King and Nora O'Donell, were all about making excuses for this.

I actually listened to Rush today (thanks to the co-worker in the cubicle to my right). Those CBS clips were just WTF obtuseness. Northam might have held higher rank than Hitler but is just below Der Fuehrer's pay grade. He's the next Robert Byrd.

Listen to Rush's opening monologue for February 11th. He dissects and analyzes the "resistance" to Trump perfectly. I should sue him for stealing my thoughts. Trump is resetting the world. He isn't regressing. He wants to undo 70 years of globalism. That's what the left is "resisting". That is why they are making excuses for Northam and he refuses to resign.
