Report: Starbucks Forces Six Police Officers Out the Door When Customer Complains of Feeling Unsafe

Police officers learned on the Fourth of July that they were not welcome in one Tempe, Arizona, Starbucks.

The irate Tempe Officers Association explained the incident in a series of tweets.

"Yesterday, on Independence Day, six Tempe police officers stopped by the Starbucks at Scottsdale Road and McKellips for coffee. The officers paid for their drinks and stood together having a cup of coffee before their long 4th of July shift," the union tweeted on Friday.

"They were approached by a barista, who knew one of the officers by name, because he is a regular at that location. The barista said that a customer 'did not feel safe' because of the police presence. The barista asked the officers to move out of the customer's line of sight or to leave. Disappointed, the officers did in fact leave.

"This treatment of public safety workers could not be more disheartening. While the barista was polite, making such a request at all was offensive. Unfortunately, such treatment has become all too common in 2019.

I'd have told the proggy snowflake to leave instead and to go get some counciling for his being such a crybaby wussy.

This kind of crap is our future and it will get worse until we all begin pushing back hard against these mental basket cases.

The customer felt "unsafe"? How so? Were they uncomfortable drinking coffee next to police officers while they had outstanding warrants?

Would the police make this customer feel "unsafe" if they rolled up in their police car while the customer was being robbed by some street thugs?

Hypocrites. Every single one of them.

That's close to where I'm living. I've probably driven by the place many times but I don't like Starbucks coffee at all so I never noticed it. I kinda hope that customer has a real need for the police in the next couple days (maybe without getting hurt too bad)

Would be a wonderful irony. If I'd been there I'd have piped up that I didn't feel safe without the police there. Because, if someone wanted the police to go away it meant they probably were planning on doing something dangerous and illegal, like armed robbery. But I'm sure the "woke" Starbucks employee would rate the other guy's concerns over mine.

I wonder if the "customer" who complained had bought anything, or was just using the free WIFI.

Fox News had some spokesman or other for the Tempe PD on this morning. He talked like he was tiptoing through the tulips himself. Trump's 2020 slogan should be "Four more years of adulting".

Well said Sev. There's no reason to be "uncomfortable" about the presence of police unless you're a criminal.

I feel like I should pay them a visit. Walk in look over the menu and then let the folks behind the counter know that I don't do business with companies that don't support our local police.

Step 1 ) Complain about feeling unsafe due to police presence
Step 2 ) Rob the place

I don’t know. I think it is more likely that the snowflake in question doesn’t feel safe around guns. Six officers so at least six firearms. Remember, these moronic babies believe that “guns” kill people.

Hell, all of mine must be defective. One even goes out with me wherever I go and it's never once shot anyone or even tried!

All of the ones I "used" to have, must be the same as yours?

I normally wouldn't blame a large company like Starbucks for the actions of one single employee, but I think they've kind of set themselves up for stuff like this.

Yep. Another case of top executives being detached from the real world and not anticipating the unintended consequences of their policies.
