Defense Secretary Leon Panetta testified this morning on Capitol Hill that President Barack Obama was absent the night four Americans were murdered in Benghazi on September 11, 2012:

<video>

Panetta said that Obama left operational details, including knowledge of what resources were available to help the Americans under seize, "up to us."

In fact, Panetta says that the night of 9/11, he did not communicate with a single person at the White House. The attack resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Panetta said that, save their 5 o'clock prescheduled meeting with the president the day of September 11, Obama did not call or communicate in anyway with the defense secretary that day. There were no calls about the what was going on in Benghazi. He never called to check-in.

So where was he? What was more important? Was he really sleeping or was he someplace else? And with who? And what was he doing?

This smells like a huge cover up.

Remember when conservatives complain about Mistah Barky taking too many vacations, and the resident butthead liberals come on here and tell us that they're really not 'vacations' because he's working at the same time? You know...he's still tied into the WH and still in charge and still informed? And here Mistah Bar-kay was even in DC and still tuning out.

Good thing there wasn't an ICBM coming over the North Pole at the time...Whew!...we're lucky to get by with just a dead ambassador and three dead guys!

Obama is not a leader. He is incapable of making a decision. He is too cowardly and unprincipled to take a stand. He will step in and demand accolades when good things happen. He will bury a blunt, rusty hatchet square in the back of anyone to cover his incompetence.

Panetta also did not address the security concerns brought up by the ambassador and the consulate security team in the months prior to September 11. He washed over that by saying they had hundreds of unconfirmed security threats from all our embassies worldwide.

I hate these people. Not a single one of these worthless dung piles have even a speck of integrity that tells them to stand up and man up.

This is either a lie or an absolute travesty. As a watch Commander, your responsibility is to immediately wake the decision maker up if anything of this nature happens. The SECDEF does nor the SECSTATE does not have the authority to make this decision alone. They MUST wake the pResident for his decision. So either they did not feel this was necessary and both should be arrested for their negligence OR they are covering for the pResident and should be arrested for lying. Your choice. Either way this is absolutely gross negligence and someone should pay.

Hillary was AWOL too.

No Word from Hillary During Benghazi Attack

Neither the secretary of defense nor the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff spoke to the secretary of state during the 8-hour attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012. At a Thursday hearing in the Senate, Republican Ted Cruz asked both Leon Panetta and Martin Dempsey, "In between 9:42 p.m., Benghazi time, when the first attacks started, and 5:15 am, when Mr. Doherty and Mr. Woods lost their lives, what converations did either of you have with Secretary Clinton?"

"We did not have any conversations with Secretary Clinton," Panetta responded.

"And General Dempsey, the same is true for you?" Cruz asked. Dempsey confirmed this.

I don't believe that for one second.
