Horace Julian Bond
NAACP Executive Chairman

Posted Image

He thinks the GOP is a negative influence in government...

Quote

Republicans appeal "to the dark underside of American culture, to that minority of Americans who reject democracy and equality," NAACP Chairman Julian Bond said yesterday at the civil rights group's 94th annual convention.

That the GOP will measure people by their skin color...(which is what he does):

Quote

"They preach racial neutrality and practice racial division ... their idea of reparations is to give war criminal Jefferson Davis a pardon," Mr. Bond said during his welcoming remarks. "Their idea of equal rights is the American flag and Confederate swastika flying side by side."

The man is living in the past, he needs to focus on the future...

Quote

"The average KKK member may be stupid, but the well-financed forces of the radical right are not," Bond said.

He believes minorities students should receive special treatment with school admissions and acceptance into higher levels of education and job opportunities, based on their minority status, not on their skills. He also doesn't understand why we went to war with Iraq, which is frightening.

Quote

"First Governor Jeb Bush became the only governor to carry out a pre-emptive strike on affirmative action," Bond said. "And then President George Bush carried out a pre-emptive strike on Iraq, the only President in our nation's history to attack a country which did not threaten or attack us first. Both strikes were unnecessary and unwise."

This quote is humorous...

Quote

'But we intend to uproot the bigger `Bush' in 2004. And what better place to start than right here in Florida!''

The bottom line:
If the N.A.A.C.P wants to remain a legitimate Civil Rights organization, they must get rid of Bond now as he has proven to be not only an embarrassment but a liability to the the organization, causing it to lose credibility.
