I am a volunteer for an orgainization that sends WWII vets to visit their memorial in Washington D.C. We have made national news and and were featured in Newsweek magazione. It all started here in my small hometown in Ohio at one of our local VFW's. We lose so many WWII vets every day who will never see the memorial erected in their honor. We send these brave Americans to D.C. with escorts, because so many are in wheelchairs, arrange the airline flights, buses, hotel accomodations, etc. Bob Dole has also met these brave men at the memorail. We just had a trip a couple of weeks ago where we took almost 400 to visit their memorial. If any of you would like to donate, please go to honorflight.org. Even the smallest donation can and will make a difference. God Bless America and our WWII Vets!

I'd also love to know when you have a another group coming down this way. We're scheduled to be in DC on Memorial day. The 'boys' are gonna be in the National Parade.

I have a chance to be an escort on the trip to Wash DC in Sept. I'm thrilled!!! Hopefully, I'll be one of the lucky ones. We're having another fund raiser in July. If you have any spare change, please give.

In lieu of flowers for my brother's funeral (9/5/08) (Green Beret, Vietnam Vet) we asked for donations to Honorflight.org. My Bro would have been sooooo proud.

Honorflight was featured on the Glenn Beck show last night. My husband and I both teared up. What a kind and wonderful organization.

I believe it's really important to remember our history, and to honor the achievements and sacrifices of the past. It has been said by one of my college tutors that if we don't remember our history then we are destined to relive it!

I don't know if the double post was an accident, or a clever way to drive your point home, but either way, well said. :D

Thanks! No, it wasn't intended to be a double post! Thought it hadn't sent, and I pressed the button twice. Not sure how I was allowed two posts anyway, as I'm a newbie and only allowed one per hour.

Anyway, yes, the irony of the double post does drive the point home! :eyebrows:
