Mars Candy And Michelle Obama Are Making Candy Bars Smaller — And Twitter Is FREAKING Out
Jaywon Choe and Jordan Teicher
Business Insider
Excerpt:

The king (size) is dead!

Mars, the company behind Snickers, Twix, and M&Ms, has announced that it will be discontinuing its king-size candy bars (and any other treat that exceeds 250 calories) by 2013.

The move comes at the behest of First Lady Michelle Obama. Mars is one of 16 companies in the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation who have pledged to eliminate 1.5 trillion calories by 2015, an initiative spearheaded by FLOTUS.

Apparently, it's just lip service:

Mars told NPR the company planned to replace “king size” candy with bags of two and four smaller bars. According to NPR, the company said it wants to “enable sharing or saving a portion for later.”

just because FAFLOTUS can't keep her paws off larger candy bar sizes, in typical lib fashion, she now denies us the option

(FAFLOTUS= fat-assed first lady of the united states)

HEY BACK OFF OF THE FIRST LADY! When I ponder all the dangers in the U.S. today, gigantor chocolate candy bars might possibly be the most urgent problem we face.

Moochelle cares and that's what's important. If you all cared you would eat smaller candy bars and drive Volts. At least wear a ribbon. Come on people it's all about intentions and symbolism. That will make the world better.
Actually it is all about control but I haven't found a control ribbon yet.

This has nothing to do with Mars' concern for people's health. If that were the case, they would stop selling their product. This has everything to with Mars capitalizing on Obama's rhetoric to shrink the size of their servings, while charging you the same price, so they can lower their costs and maximize their profits.

Mars is taking the sleazy route to cost savings. It's manipulative and unethical, IMO.

If leftist knew anything about how businesses work, they would be up in arms over this decision. But they don't, so Mars gets a pass.

I prefer the same total amount in smaller pieces than one king size anyway. The king size snicker has too much of a nugget to chocolate ratio as the volume of the bar increases at a much greater rate than the surface area when you make it larger.

With that said, I like to see companies make these decisions on their own due to their own market research, as opposed to them changing the way they do things because the government encourages them to.

This is not intended directly or solely at you.....because I have seen it in countless threads by many, many, wonderful people (that was my tribute to Commandant Lassard from Police Academy).....but why do so many people on rightnation attack Michelle Obama because of her looks?

She isn't a bad looking woman....and even if she were, she does well with what she has. As to her backside, find me a mother of two kids that has the butt of a 22 year old model.

No really, any pictures of 22 year old looking butts are appreciated.

I think Michelle Mars-ass is ugly, out of proportion and looks and dresses like a freak. She's also a gutsy pig and that's why her arse is so gargantuan.

I agree. However, I do find her unattractive.
