Cod-damn gorgeous! The girl who works in a chip shop who has 'Britain's most beautiful face'

Daily Mail Online

(excerpt)

'Leonardo Da Vinci spent a lifetime trying to paint one. Scientists and mathematicians have puzzled for centuries over what makes one, while cosmetic surgeons have amassed fortunes striving to create one.

And Florence Colgate? Well, she simply has one.

The 18-year-old student is blessed with what is described as the perfect face. It matches an international blueprint for the optimum ratio between eyes, mouth, forehead and chin, endowing her with flawless proportions.

In theory, that needn't necessarily cause her to appear anything more than symmetrical (in which department, incidentally, she is also faultless).

But the blue-eyed blonde's mathematical dimensions have just added up to success in a competition to find Britain's most naturally beautiful face.

Florence, who has a Saturday job in a seaside chip shop in between studying for her A-levels, beat 8,000 entrants to win the title. Contestants were judged without make-up and were barred entry if they had had plastic surgery or chemical enhancement.

Locals wryly suggested it was the sea air in the Dover Grammar schoolgirl's home town of Deal, Kent, which contributed to her success, or possibly a secret ingredient in Middle Street Fish Bar's chips.

But it is the scientific definition of beauty – not to mention a healthy portion of beauty genes from her mother – which gave Florence the crown.'

She's good looking, but it's not the face, it's the eyes that are the key. She has the eyes, that's for sure.

Beautiful face, and a great name to go with it.

Florence. Not McKayluh or Maddacyn or any of that trashy crap.

and Colgate... no need to explain the imagery there...

Somehow, I'm sure, this all so very, racist. ;)

Pretty girl, though. However, racist.

I wonder how that chick who says that everybody hates her because she's beautiful feels about this. This girl is a thousand times prettier--no comparison. Of course, almost anybody is.

Another beauty would be Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones. Totally gorgeous, IMHO.

besides the eyes, I think it's the MINIMAL amount of makeup. Fresh and clean looking. I wish more would realize that makeup is to accentuate and not slap it on like spackle. There's nothing more unappealing than a painted up Jersey Shore Snookie type.

I'll bet she's a looker when she hit her 40's. What a pretty lady!

The right watchman is on the lookout!

I think her beauty is a combination of a few things. Her eyes are very bright and blue. Her lips are nice and full. Skin tone immaculate. Her face is round and all her facial features are totally proportionate and have perfect symmetry. I think that is the key to her physical beauty.

I have to admit something though. When I see a woman like this, the name Florance Colgate does not come to mind.

Very pretty!

What is best is that hers is a wholesome, natural beauty, not one that needs caked-on makeup, jewelry, fake eyelashes, fancy hairstyle, etc.

She'd be attractive just waking up in the morning.

hmmm, I gotta say, if she showed up at my door, I might have to switch teams for the evening... :whistling:

Very beautiful. I'd say she looks like the "All-American Girl," but I'd hate to deny Britain her most beautiful face.

The blonde squints her left eye slightly, and that little gap in the center of the lip puts me off. Also, her mouth is tilted. She ain't ugly, but she ain't drop-dead gorgeous either. I don't really see her as anything special.

(on the other hand, :eyebrows: if she was a red-head, especially a curly-haired one... )

She's cute, sure. But... well, it is "Britain's most beautiful face." You know at least 7,500 of the entrants resembled a sun-dried flounder.
