Trump: The End Game

Robert Kuttner http://prospect.org/.../trump-end-game

Trump will be forced from the presidency. The only question is by what means, and how much further damage this wounded madman will do along the way.

Here’s what is likely to unfold, not in months but in weeks: Senior members of the Republican establishment—the national security elite, leading senators and members of the House, business figures—will confer and conclude that Trump has to go, and the sooner the better. Some lucky soul will be delegated to let Trump know that he needs to resign. If he doesn’t, he will be subjected either to an impeachment proceeding or an impairment proceeding under the 25th Amendment. The rest is detail.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The 25th Amendment provides that a majority of the Cabinet secretaries can vote to decide a President is unfit to serve. If the President disputes that, the Congress can vote to remove him from office by a two-thirds vote. Robert Kuttner's hatred of Trump has deluded him that a majority of Trump's cabinet plus the Vice-President will vote to remove him from office and that if Trump doesn't accept that, a two-thirds majority of the Congress will ratify it.

Orwell was right. There are some ideas so preposterous that only an intellectual can believe them. Kuttner, who attended Oberlin, UC-Berkeley, and the London School of Economics, has been well trained to believe absurdities.

WTF is Robert Kuttner? A sad little jackoff? A panty whisper? Someone whose opinion matters not to me.

There are a variety of ways I could play with his name to better depict just what a loser he is...

Then again, the article speaks volumes for him in that vein...

Another of that cadre of insulated leftist pseudo-intellectuals participating in this political circle-jerk. Indeed, he looks exactly like you think he would: balding, bespeckled, soft, pajamaboy-sees-50 beta male.

Yes, it's Wikipedia, but they're not lying.

They're going to keep at it until they get something - anything - and it won't surprise me if at some point Trump, however inadvertently, gives them something. Even if it takes 6 years, as it did with Nixon.

However much the left may be willing to overlook blatant felonies on their own side, they're not going to let Trump slide with so much as a parking citation.

And why is that?

A big part is that the left has over the past decades won the ground game. Most importantly they successfully indoctrinated the media. This gives them the power to push only one side of the argument. But furthermore they've got the educational system and many large corporations and the government workers. Why? Unions. And indoctrination.

It's started turning around, in my opinion largely because the right is winning the ground game. They're regaining the hearts and minds of America, simply by not lying anywhere near as much as the left and by letting the left evolve into the neo-socialist paradise seeking entity that it was always destined to become.

In addition to his early work at Pacifica Radio, including a stint as general manager of WBAI-FM in New York, he has served as Washington Editor of the Village Voice, economics editor at The New Republic, and was a member of the national staff at the Washington Post. Between 1984 and 2005 he was one of five columnists for the "Economic Viewpoint" section (also titled "Economic Watch") of BusinessWeek. He has been a columnist in the Boston Globe since 1985.

He currently holds the Ida and Meyer Kirstein Chair at Brandeis, where he is a visiting professor of social policy. At different times throughout his career he has also taught at Brandeis, Boston University, University of Oregon, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Harvard's Institute of Politics. He has also been a John F. Kennedy Fellow at Harvard University, a Woodrow Wilson Fellow at UC-Berkeley, a Guggenheim Fellow, and a Radcliffe Public Policy Fellow.

Sad little jackoff seems accurate. He has worked his entire life in academia and in liberal publications. Like the Red Queen in "Through the Looking Glass", he can believe seven impossible things before breakfast by dint of much practice.

....and the fascism. The Left are the Blackshirts and the ones committing violence and fomenting hatred. People are starting to see this. They are not "tolerant" or "loving" or "compassionate" and the mask is slipping more and more. They are the "boot stomping on your face forever" and are demonstrating that daily. If a Trump economy peels off about 6-8% more of the black vote, they will be in deep poo territory. That's when they will really be dangerous. :coffeenpc:

Gives these people what?

Credibility?

They have none. ZERO ZILCH. NADA.

So their fabricated accusations and allegations won't fly or stick to Trump.

Yup, and if they can't nail him with a parking citation, they'll just make something up out of whole cloth. You know, like the "collusion with Russia" nonsense they're currently trying to pin on him. No evidence whatsoever, but they've still got half the country believing it.

Deluded people interpret all evidence as support for their delusion. JFK conspiracy buffs prevailed on the Oswald family to have their most notorious relative's body exhumed. The medical examiners reported that dental X-rays of the body matched those from Lee Harvey Oswald's Marine Corps service. To the conspiracy buffs, this wasn't evidence that the body in the grave really is that of Lee Harvey Oswald. To them, it proved that conspirators had tampered with Oswald's dental records.

Just so, if the House doesn't vote to impeach Trump, or if his Cabinet secretaries and the Vice-President do not rule him unfit to serve as President, Kuttner isn't going to give up his delusion that Trump deserves impeachment or removal from office. He will conclude that the Congress and the Cabinet secretaries aren't fit for office, either. And the circular reasoning goes round and round.

What advantage would there be in impeaching him now? Best to just leave him there to keep doing his thing.

Perfectly described. Well done. Both paragraphs.

If Trump ignores them and just goes about the business of his job, then the results will speak for themselves. If the country is going to go into the pot with the liberals, then there's not much that can be done about it anyway.
