Watched the Mark Levin discussion with Jon Voight last night on FOX. I was impressed and emotionally moved by Voights reflections. It's worth giving it your time on Life, Liberty and Levin, it is still available.

Yup, I watched it too. Voight is obviously a thoughtful, intelligent person, a rarity in Hollywood.

We could use a lot more like him.

I missed it last night but we record all of them. I will have to watch it tonight or tomorrow afternoon.

All I seem to record are Lou Dobbs, Greg Gutfield, Mark Levin,...and Ohio State football.

I hesitate. It's easy to claim "virtue" after the fact.

"Yeah, I knew that all along".

Coupled with "daughter" is Angelina Jolie, not exactly "Exhibit A" in mental health.

The good book says:

Train up a child in the way he should go,
[a]And when he is old he will not depart from it.

In Voight's case? Well, "better late than never", I suppose.

Whoa, wait a minute. Parents are not always the reason kids turn out "bad". I have a very good friend who is a good mother- of a young man who is schitzo-effective and bi-polar. I have watched this mother struggle for years with her son. Doctors, lawyers, Indian chiefs. Well, maybe not the chiefs, but as a Native, she has had some help from the tribe. Not much though. She has spent her 401K on doctors and lawyers. When he was young, she was a very involved parent. His later teens hit and he spun out of control. As an adult, there is only so much she can now do. Doctors won't talk to her. I know some are the product of their homelife, parents and childhood, but there are a lot who are truly mentally ill.

Voight reminds me of another hardcore leftist celeb who went through an epiphany and became a hardcore conservative and loved to go on shows to debate them down to dust, and that was Ron Silver.

Unfortunately we lost him a few years ago to cancer, but he was a pitbull when it came to debating the celebutards on leftist talkshows and he would leave them in cinders at his feet.

As for his daughter, she was raised predominantly by her mother, I believe, and Voight's been estranged from Angelina off and on since his awakening, so what does she have to do with him other than being family?

We see a lot of leftards with money who raise their kids with platinum spoons full of questionable things who become the cautionary tales for poor choices and throwing money at a problem that only gets worse.

Jolie has done more than a few things that speak to thin morality, but she has given home to children who needed a home and then produced her own, and while the way she is raising them makes me wince sometimes, they're well fed, clothed and have a decent home to live in, so, she could have turned out to be a worse mother, so... her parents did some things right.

Not up to your usual standards Dean. I seem to remember Ronald Reagan had similar problems with offspring. "Better late than never" indeed.

Better than that imbecile Jim Carrey, who was on Maher, and was blubbering on about the greatness of socialism.

Yup, Carrey's a moron. <_< Just another "entertainer" who refuses to stick to his profession and stay away from subjects (like politics) where he hasn't got a freaking clue.
