Lefty Judge Orders DOJ To Give $28m, Previously Withheld For Sanctuary City Status, To California

Excerpt:

A left-wing federal judge with a history of ruling against the Trump administration ruled against it again Friday by revoking its right to enforce federal immigration laws in California and demanding it funnel a total $28 million in unpaid grant money to “sanctuary cities” like San Francisco.

The ruling by William Orrick concerned a decision by Attorney General Jeff Sessions last year to revoke funding from so-called “sanctuary cities” unless they began abiding my federal immigration laws.

“Today I am urging all states and local jurisdictions to comply with all federal laws, including 8 U.S.C. Section 1373,” Sessions had said in an announcement on March 27, 2017. “Moreover, the Department of Justice will require jurisdictions seeking or applying for Department grants to certify compliance with Section 1373 as a condition for receiving these awards.”

The decision had specifically demanded that “sanctuary cities” provide U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement with access to their jails, notify ICE officials in advance of detained illegals being released and share information about detained illegals with the Department of Homeland Security.

In invalidating Sessions’ decision and forcing the Department of Justice to continue funding California’s illicit activity, Orrick — who has a history of donating to left-wing politicians — essentially granted the left-wing state the authority to defy the law whenever it desires.

The judge defended his ruling nevertheless, arguing that Sessions’ decision “undermines existing state and local policies and strips local policymakers of the power to decide for themselves whether to communicate with” immigration officials, according to Fox News.

“California expresses the legitimate concern that entanglement with federal immigration enforcement erodes the trust that Latino and undocumented immigrant communities have in local law enforcement,” he added.

The belief by California’s radically left-wing politicians, including state Attorney General Xavier Becerra, is that unless their government appeases the interests of criminal aliens, Latino communities won’t cooperate with the authorities in crime investigations.

Enjoy your 15 minutes of fame, once Kavanaugh is confirmed and all your cases sent to SCOUTS like DACA, canceling TPS and sanctuary state. We will see how happy you get

The last two Twitters users had a point. After Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh’s scheduled confirmation Saturday, the high court will tilt to the right. This means that when the issue of defunding “sanctuary cities” reaches it, the court will most likely rule in favor of the Trump administration.

This "judge" has decided that laws need not be obeyed, and that the DoJ has no right to enforce the law.

An Obama appointment. What a shock, huh?

Typical leftwing filth.

Too easy to fix this, I can already guess how this will turn out in SCOTUS. 5:4 decision in favor of the actual Constitutional responsibility.

Technically the courts will tilt back to the middle...or normal. They are supposed to be unbiased and nonpartisan. These leftist "judges" are what's wrong here. I don't consider them true judges because they're not. They don't rule by law, the rule by belief.

The name 'Orrick' sounds familiar. Hasn't he waded into the waters of judicial activism before?

Trump should just tell the judge, "What troops are YOU going to send to enforce YOUR OPINION?"

Or...

"Thanks for your OPINION, Judge. I'll take it from here. Go back to your robe closet."
