Trump goes full Alinsky in the midterm race

By Thomas Lifson
October 8, 2018

Fifty years after left wing riots during the Chicago Democratic National Convention handed an election issue and victory to Richard M. Nixon, the Left has handed a similar opportunity to President Trump in his efforts to maintain control of the House of Representatives and enhance the GOP Senate majority.

Even before the disgraceful demonstrations on Saturday, with fanatics in the Senate Gallery sequentially screaming in an effort to disrupt a vote whose outcome they didn’t like, and before demonstrators broke through police lines and pounded on the doors of the Supreme Court’s Temple of Justice, President Trump spoke out against “mob rule” in his Topeka, Kansas rally on Friday.

First he invoked compassion for the Kavanaugh family targeted by an “angry mob.”:

What he and his wonderful family endured at the hands of Democrats is unthinkable. In their quest for power, the radical Democrats have turned into an angry mob with this screaming and the shouting, not from the 200 people, those people couldn’t fit in the front row. Look what we have here tonight.

And then, he enlarged on the danger to Republic of the Democrats’ reliance on “mob rule.”

You don’t hand matches to an arsonists and you don’t get power to an angry left-wing mob. That is what they have become."

On Twitter, he followed Alinsky’s last and possibly most potent law. The 13th entry in Rules for Radicals reads, “ "Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it."

The very rude elevator screamers are paid professionals only looking to make Senators look bad. Don’t fall for it! Also, look at all of the professionally made identical signs. Paid for by Soros and others. These are not signs made in the basement from love! #Troublemakers

In the person of George Soros, convicted felon and billionaire financier, Trump has the perfect Bond villain to act as the personification of the ruthless puppet masters manipulating the politics for their own gain.

Nothing says spontaneous, grassroots protesting like professionally preprinted signs.

Kind of like Benghazi, nothing says spontaneous protest against a video getting out of hand like coordinated heavy weapon, machine gun, and mortar fire.

Anyone that's been following this nonsense over the years knows what's up. I think there are still too many people that miss the bigger picture though.

This whole kavenaugh thing was about further dividing and destabilizing our republic. It's directly linked to the Russia hoax.

Did anyone hear what the protesters were shouting from the hall? "Where's my representation?!!" That's an odd thing to say over the sexual assault rapist gripes isn't it?

It's all about discrediting our system of elected officials. It's no coincidence that the ditsy puppet Cortez begins chiming in about ending the electoral college. This is well organized chaos...poorly executed...but we'll organized

I think the main advantage of having Trump as president is that for most of his life he was a New York Liberal. He is rude, he is willing to name call or assign belittling nicknames, he is willing to attack rather than retreat, he does not care if people denigrate or call him names, he is willing to fight and not back down, he is willing to use the press (even though they do not support him)and he is still acting like a liberal, but with a conservative philosophy. I think that is why the left is so against him...he is basically them, but with an opposing point of view. In effect a traitor to the liberal cause.

We need someone who'll shake things up, not maintain the status quo. Much like Rome truly needed Caesar. His conquests in Gaul brought much needed cash to Rome. His political and social changes were sorely needed to restore honest labor and dignity to the plebeians after they had been replaced by cheap slave labor by the patricians. His desire to make the conquered provinces like Spain and Gaul true Romans with Senate representation was sorely needed if Rome was going to grow and thrive and not constantly have to be refighting the same wars over and over as the territories rebelled and had to be reconquered. Sadly, the entrenched powers that be did not want these changes and Caesar was killed for his troubles. Much the same as the Democrats and Never Trumpers have been attacking Trump.
