Why The Left Hates Prosperity

Liberals are angry because they were sure Trump would fail

The Washington Times
By Stephen Moore
Sunday, October 28, 2018

Excerpt:

Here is Mooreís rule of modern day politics: The better the economy performs under President Trump and the more successes he racks up, the more unhinged the left becomes. Itís a near linear relationship. And it goes for media as well.

Thatís why the monthly jobs announcements and the quarterly GDP reports, like the one released on Friday, are the unhappiest days of the year for the Trump haters. News of 3.5 to 4 percent growth and seven million surplus jobs are the bane of the resistance movementís existence.

So with the economy flying high, the pundits who all predicted Mr. Trump would shut down the world economy, have had to continually invent new reasons that Donald Trump is the worst thing to happen to the United States since typhoid fever.

Consider the latest group rant by the left: Donald Trump has moved the GOP to the far right and has hijacked the principles of the Republican party. Whatever happened, they ask, to the good old days when moderates in the GOP used to compromise, cut deals with Ted Kennedy, and capitulate?

Liberals want a return to the days when the GOPís standard bearers were people like George H.W. Bush, Bob Michel, Bob Dole, John McCain, Mitt Romney ó and most recently, John Kasich.

Think. What do all these Republicans have in common? Losing. Sure, everyone likes playing with the lovable loser who comes each week to the poker game every Thursday night and blows $200.

My intention isnít to disparage these men. I have known all of them and respect them all ó especially the noble war heroes, Mr. Bush, Mr. Dole and Mr. McCain. Bob Michel was a Republican minority leader beloved by the left for years and years, precisely because he kept the House Republicans where they belonged ó in the minority.

It was only when the mean Newt Gingrich ďhijackedĒ the party with a hard-charging conservative political and economic reform agenda that the GOP blasted out the Democrats with dynamite and won the House for the first time in a half-century.

Or consider Messrs. Bush, Dole, McCain and Romney. They all lost the White House and now are treated as statesmen and political icons. Lovable losers.

Mr. Trumpís crime is that heís a winner.

Yup, it's true.

Sure, they're unhinged anyway; If they weren't, they wouldn't be leftists in the first place. But their lunacy has gone so far over the top ever since Nov '16 that it's difficult to picture them without a straitjacket and a drool-cup.

25% of democrats are on medication for mental illness. That's scary. It means 75% of them are running around untreated.

They were sure that they could take him down with the powers of the deep state like was done to every do-gooder president before Trump.

Even scarier is the fact that they're continuing to breed more! I think that's why there's so many kids on anti-psychotic medications, now.

Listen to any Dale Carnegie / Zig Ziglar/ Brian Tracy / Steven Covey / Jim Collins audio books FREELY available from your local library or elsewhere. They'll TELL you how to prosper... IF you have the discipline to follow through.

Ah,,, personal discipline. A concept that's apparently anathema to the left, like a silver cross unto a vampire.

I just had an epiphany. The left believe in so may different sexual diversions that probably result in
a low birth to death ratio; therefore they need all the illegals they can import to keep up.

The left hate prosperity in the same way they love socialism. It is for other people.

I have been reading Tucker Carlson's Ship of Fools. He talks about how some on the left believe they deserve their success for just being good people. They don't believe luck had anything to do with their success. He does not use the quote attributed to Barry Switzer, but it would have been appropriate, "Some people are born on third base and go through life thinking they hit a triple." They have not actual connection to the middle or lower classes, but believe they know what is good for them. Carlson goes on to point out how Andrew Carnegie worked at a cotton mill at a young age.

I was reading an article posted on Right Nation a few weeks ago. It was was the typical orange man bad tripe written by a cheerleader for left. As always I like to find out more about the writer. It turned out his father was the head of Sidwell Friends School. I had to wonder how this child of privilege knew how the middle class thinks, and how the bad orange man was tricking them.. I also had to wonder if he got his job because someone high up at the newspaper/magazine wanted their child to get into Sidwell.

Where I disagree with Stephen Moore is that he left out that the left "official" history of Reagan working with the Democrats. I think in about 20 years (around the 2040 Presidential election) the leftist talking heads will be complaining about the current crop of Republicans. Demanding to know why can't they compromise like that nice bipartisan Donald Trump.

The Left LOVES prosperity! Why, just the other week they were announcing that chocolate rations had increased from 30 to 25 grams a week! How can you say they don't like prosperity!?!?

I am DERPTACUS!

Okay, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and diss St. Ronald.

REALIZE who Reagan WAS: An actor and later a corporate "spokesman" (For General Electric). That's no small feat, and "speaking" is a talent all it's own. Credit where credit is due. (Anyone here think "public speaking" is EASY??? No, it's not. It's a talent, but a talent that can be learned. Reagan learned it, as an actor and a spokesman. That's great: There has been no better spokesman for the conservative cause in my lifetime, bar none.

But... being a 'spokesman' is different than being an 'executive'. THAT's where the rubber meets the road. Reagan lacked as governor of CA (Legalizing CA abortion, Biggest expansion of "state" government. etc), then later as pres (Got schnookered by Tip O'Neil way TOO many times) though he talked a good game, which is what people will remember.

One of the biggest lessons is perseverance-not quitting as President Trump would say. I dealt with Colonel Sanders and Dave Thomas and both, along with Ray Kroc, knew the magic of it. I also remember a quote from, I believe, Thomas Edison, that genius was 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration.
The left seems to think that they are so special that everything they do is a work of genius. Then they see a squirrel...
