Jeff Flake Forces Republicans To Cancel Confirmation Of Judges Over Mueller

The Blaze
UPI
28 November 2018

Excerpt:

Senator Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) has forced Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee to cancel a meeting in the process of confirming dozens of judges.

Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) announced the meeting scheduled for Thursday was cancelled and listed the nominees that would be up for confirmation.

Flake can block all judicial nominees from being sent for a confirmation vote on the Senate floor because he is the key vote in the Judiciary Committee, which has 11 Republicans and 10 Democrats.

Flake has said that he would refuse to vote for the appointments so long as his bill protecting the investigation of special counsel Robert Mueller was blocked by Republicans.

On Wednesday, the bill was defeated by Republicans.

Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) blocked the bill protecting Mueller by arguing that doing so would undermine separation of powers between (sic) the three branches of government.

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that Flake just couldn't fade away into irrelevance peacefully. He had to have his "thumbs down" moment. <_<

So, he wants to stop the Senate from doing its actual business, to protest its not getting into business it has no right to. Well, what’s the Separation of Powers next to the Posturing of Jeff Flake?

And you're thinking about a 2020 Republican presidential bid against Trump

Good luck with that, douchebag.

Is it amazing what hate will make a person do. He doesn't care about the country just cares about causing problems.

I have a 5 year old grandson that might pull something like this to get his way. You don't expect it from a sitting United States senator.

Well, it is Jeff Flake, so...

Doesn't matter, just have Trump recess appoint them, and then go appoint them in the new session. This guy's ego has been stoked enough for what he pulled with Kavanaugh. Time to be rid of this guy for good.

I still don't know he has not been replaced, he should be removed from his committee appointments, and replaced with someone who will be a Senator next session, they is no need for his lame duck grandstanding. I guess his chances for re-election didn't penetrate through the osmium skull of his, that no body liked him. i have to figure the polling for his run for 2020 has to be in the negative numbers by now.

If he refuses to do his job, remove him. His job is not to refuse to do anything in protest of <whatever>, therefore there must be a rule/statute that can be used to take him away.

I doubt it will last, but since he's leaving anyway who knows?

In other nominee news, good on Tim Scott..
