Trump claims 'wall' around Obamas' DC home is 'same thing' as border wall
The Hill - Brett Samuels - link

President Trump on Sunday referenced reports of a privacy "wall" built around President Obama's Washington, D.C., home to justify the construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, as he continues to push for funding the structure amid a partial government shutdown.

Trump tweeted that the brick structure reportedly put up last year along the Obamas' Kalorama home was "totally necessary for their safety and security."

"The U.S. needs the same thing, slightly larger version!" Trump tweeted.

TMZ first reported two years ago that the former first family had obtained permits for additional security at their D.C. home. The structure, which in photos appears to be similar to a security fence but made of brick, was reportedly completed in 2017.

Actually, Trump isn't trying to 'justify' anything, he is dumbing down the obvious for the mentally leftarded who just don't want to grasp the basic principles in play on this issue.

So Obama walls work perfectly fine, but border walls are incapable of providing a barrier to the threats? I guess all those T-Walls in Iraq didn't stop the threats from attacking our bases... Hmmm yeah I can't think of too many invasions onto bases after we put those big brick walls up, they worked like a champ!

Neighbors say there's no 10-foot wall outside Obama's house

Neighbors of former President Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama have disputed President Trump's recent claim that a 10-foot wall stands around the Obama home in Washington, D.C.

Two neighbors in remarks to The Washington Post disputed Trump's characterization.

“There’s a fence that goes along the front of the house, but it’s the same as the other neighbors have. It’s tastefully done," one neighbor, who was kept anonymous, told the newspaper.

Another neighbor also told the Post that the home is completely visible from the street.

“There is no 10-foot wall in the front, back or sides of the house — and no wall is going up,” the neighbor said.

OK, so it's a fence. The point remains the same: Barriers work.

Oh come on know, we all know that Obama was the 2nd coming of Jesus and his safety is of the utmost highest importance.
Walls and fences belong to the elites and important people only.

Shoot. They’re right. Trump lied. It’s a 9ft 11inch wall.

I wonder if Obama told the owner of the fence company 'You didn't build that'?

Why should they have a fence around their property at all, given that everyone is welcome and all should be allowed to come in and make themselves at home?

Oh, that's right, that's for OTHER people, not those who enact their idiocy at the expense of other people's safety and lives.

So, as long as the border wall is tastefully done, we good with it?

Interestingly, your article makes no mention of the guard house the Obama’s had constructed on the property. JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHER NEIGHBORS have, I’m sure.

Are all the other neighbors former presidents? The guard house is for the Secret Service.
