Joe Biden: U.S. Has ‘Obligation’ To Give Healthcare To ‘Undocumented’ Immigrants

The Daily Wire
By Ryan Saavedra
May 8, 2019

Excerpt:

Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden said during a campaign stop in California on Wednesday that the United States has an "obligation" to give healthcare to illegal aliens.

"I think that anyone who is in a situation where they're in need of healthcare, regardless of whether they are documented or undocumented, we have an obligation to see that they are cared for," Biden said in Los Angeles. "That's why I think we need more clinics around the country."

Biden dismissed the notion that many illegal aliens come into the United States illegally through the southern border despite the fact that immigration arrests along the border are at a 12-year high.

"U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) detained 109,144 migrants along the boundary with Mexico last month, a 6 percent increase from March, as monthly arrests reached their highest point since 2007," The Washington Post reported. "Unauthorized border crossings have more than doubled in the past year, and they are on pace to exceed 1 million on an annual basis, as Guatemalan and Honduran families continue streaming north in record numbers with the expectation they will be quickly processed and released from custody."

"Our apprehension numbers are off the charts," Carla Provost, chief of the Border Patrol, told the Senate on Wednesday. "We cannot address this crisis by shifting more resources. It’s like holding a bucket under a faucet. It doesn’t matter how many buckets we have if we can’t turn off the flow.”

"My greatest concern is that we will no longer be able to deliver consequences and we will lose control of the border," Provost added.

HotAir noted that most people do not "appreciate how bad the situation is" until they read a new report where "the acting head of DHS starts describing the number of Guatemalans arriving in the U.S. as a percentage of the country’s total population."

One question, to start with......Why does the USA have an 'obligation' to provide anything to an illegal alien?

And the correct answer cannot possibly some version of 'helping less fortunate'.
That "logic" would mean that the USA should spend our national resources to fix every foreign problem we can identify.

No we don't, Joey plugs.

Perhaps a moral obligation, but definitely not any lawful obligation.

I’m starting to feel sorry for Biden. He is going to crash and burn hard.

Why do we even have a "moral" obligation? They came up here, buyer beware. We can "care for them" by putting their butts on a plane and getting them back to their original country ASAP. That's the end of our obligation to them. If they come up here a second time we can dump them in the ocean off the coast of their or nearest nation to them if they are land locked. Do that a few times and the moral imperative to take care of them will disappear along with the problem itself. I am tired of being forced to pay taxes for dependents I did not make.

Agreed. I have a leftist acquaintance who used to border on friend who thinks that Biden is the reason the Dems lost the election. "If we had only run the true statesman and accomplished legislator..." I almost threw up.

Now simply an acquaintance because he told me that I am a right-wing radical because I believe in the Constitution. Did I mention that this moron is a retired Command Sergeant Major...public affairs. Even in the Army, the journalists are whack.

I think the moral obligation is that we don’t want anyone to literally die of something that could be treated. BUT, there are preconditions.
1) stop the <censored>ing flow of illegals
2) how <censored>ing hard is #1 to understand?
3) do #1
4) really really do #1 and build the <censored>ing wall
5) after all that, anyone who makes it here illegally? Don’t let them die but dump their ass into Mexican side and have it be their problem

The hilarity of being preached to by liars, thieves, molesters, plagiarizers and murderers, that we have an "obligation"? Small wonder our Founding Fathers had pistol duels.

If we owe them medical care what else do we owe them? Food? A house? A car?

Never in our history did we have to deal with such twisted politicians. I feel the Democratic Party ended with the election of Obama. This Socialist/Communist party is so openly anti-American. I can't believe the insane things they want. I can't wrap my head around such childish, self-serving. openly anti-American, God, morality, religion hating, baby killing and now infant killing ghouls. Maybe it's a blessing they are so crazy. Biden is such a piece of garbage. The difference with Biden as opposed to the other candidates is I don't know if he believes any of this foolishness. I get the impression he doesn't really believe the crazy stances of his other candidates--maybe he does but, I think he knows better but is such a piece of s*** whore that he will say and do anything to get himself elected.

The BIG problem in the context of socialism that people aren’t thinking about is that this nation has immense wealth, when all is added up. If the socialists gain power, the economy won’t collapse as quickly as Venezuela. It’ll be more like Europe. A long slide into larger and larger classes of the poor. And simultaneously, smaller and smaller classes of the wealthy. The socialists like that because, even though the average went down, the disparity (standard deviation) also went down, so there’s more “equality”. With one exception of course - the political ruling class.

If America goes socialist, the whole world will suffer economically. It’s amazing but true that most people don’t understand this.

Likely, but I sometimes wonder just how aware of anything, including what day of the week it is or where he is, Biden actually is.
