Trump Pressed Australian Leader to Help Barr Investigate Mueller Inquiry’s Origins
NY Times - Mark Mazzetti and Katie Benner - link

<excerpted>

WASHINGTON — President Trump pushed the Australian prime minister during a recent telephone call to help Attorney General William P. Barr gather information for a Justice Department inquiry that Mr. Trump hopes will discredit the Mueller investigation, according to two American officials with knowledge of the call.

And here comes the hearsay dog pile...

The media is going to run with anything they can put together while the Senate issues subpoenas to add gravitas to what is nothing more than a political snipe hunt.

Anyone who contributes to this should be prosecuted for their part in perpetrating a fraud and a few other choice acts that should incur significant and long lasting ramifications.

It's simpler than that. We already know that a foreign agent planted a bug George Papadopoulos' ear about the Russians having access to Hillary?'s e-mails. Papadopoulos has a couple of drinks and seemingly innocuous conversation with Australian diplomat Alexander Downer. Alexander Downer uses the planted info to "blow the whistle" at the FBI's London office.

What's to learn from PRESIDENT Donald J. Trump's call to the Australian PM that the general public doesn't already know? I don't know which is pissing me off more: the never-ending coup attempt or the insult to my intelligence.

So what if he did? Is it now a crime for him to talk to our allies about whatever the hell he wants to talk about?

Ace sums it up with this headline: "Asking Australia For Help In Investigating Russia Collusion Hoax Is Now Illegal, Say People Who Used Official US Spy Officials to Ask Australia for Help Concocting the Russia Collusion Hoax"

Which is why Congress will never summon Ace to testify. The Democrats can't afford someone telling the truth at a level that their base can comprehend.

All snark aside...

Far as I can tell, Trump's guilty of requesting assistance with an active DOJ investigation.

Okay, that was probably a *little* snarky, but really -- so far that's the accusation.

And for the idiots who don't know how their own government works, a President is the chief law enforcement officer of the United States. This kind of request is hardly unusual.

Hey, snark is perfectly acceptable under such blatantly absurd circumstances.

Just like their favorable view of socialism. THIS time it will work. Despite failing every single time in the past with NO EXCEPTION. THIS one is different. THIS will remove President Trump and put in ....er ....then we go after Mike Pence!

Despite no success whatsoever. Despite all the time and money wasted in multiple fish expeditions, he's guilty of something. Especially since they hate him so much.

When you're own government agencies can't be trusted, as they're in the middle of trying to stage a coup over you, whom else can one turn to but allies?

But it wasn't a crime for Obama to meddle openly with an ally by trying to influence their election against a sitting government.

Trump is not allowed talk to anyone or do anything or it is an abuse of power. This crap is getting really thin.
