77 Sunset Strip is a tad before my time, but I do remember his as Vince Fontaine in Grease.

RIP

Edd Byrnes, being a "stock" player contracted at Warner Brothers Television division, often appeared in other WBTV shows along with his regular role on 77 Sunset Strip. I've seen him on shows like "Cheyenne" and "Maverick" and more. There was even one deliberately-comedic episode of Maverick where Edd Byrnes is seen standing in front of a livery stable with the address "77 Cherokee Strip" over the door, LOL.

I also saw him in an episode of "Married With Children".

RIP Edd.

(And Buck Henry too.)

RIP. I remember 77 Sunset Strip. I also remember another good, lost to time detective show, Hawaiian Eye.

Oh no! Kookie, Kookie, Lend Me Your Comb! I loved 77 Sunset Strip. We just watched Grease the other night and he was a good Vince Fontane. Another of my young girl crushes gone. http://www.rightnation.us/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/1346.gif

Oh no. :( Rush is one of the last great power trios, and they can never replace Neil Peart.

I was listening to Sirius XM two days ago and the DJ had said that Geddy Lee had stated that Neil wasn't doing too well these last few days, but he didn't day what was ailing him. They asked Geddy if Rush would go on and he refused to say.

67 is way too young for a guy like Neil to go, especially when it seemed that he was in pretty good shape to still play those drums as masterfully as he has?
I looked up the news article just now and it said that Neil had died from brain cancer.

Rush is one of my most favorite bands of all time, all of those guys were very very talented and kicked ass.

Godspeed Neil Peart and also Buck Henry who was one of the best comedy writers of all time.

Two more favorite entertainment icons from my youth are now gone.

They say that you donít need a great drum kit to be a great drummer...But when youíre already a great drummer and have a drum kit like he had it made it all the better...He could get lost behind those drums

And Monty is right...You just canít replace this guy

He could hit anything with his drum sticks and make it rock like no other on the planet and he did just that.

He had a helluva collection of percussion instruments, chime trees, xylophones, glockenspiels, gongs, cowbells, bells, tubular bells, anything that could make a sound when struck and he was indeed a master of them all.

I read somewhere that Geddy said Neal wrote the lyrics for their songs, and Geddy stated he didn't really understand them.

Neil Peart was a fan of Ayn Rand and he was a conservative.

His lyrics dabbled in and reflected many ideas from her writings.

Pay attention to the lyrics from the songs "The Trees" and "Free Will".

Geddy wasn't necessarily hip to all that stuff.
