Note: Yes, I know he's not an American, so the tag is not Anti-Americanism--it's Ignorance

Blood for oil, burning effigies and using children
Ledger is quoted at peace rally in Australia, during the war to free Iraq, while protesters chanted "No War" and cheered as effigies of US President Bush and John Howard burned. Students in school uniform were conspicuous in the crowd. Some had red paint on their hands representing blood. Others chanted: "Stop killing the kids."

Quote

"I'm here because they are dropping 3000 bombs on Baghdad, on women and children. It's wrong for humanity, it's not in the name of peace, it's in the name of oil."

Quote

"Australia has become the aggressor, and we are not an aggressive country...This war's not for human rights -- it's for the price of bloody oil ... They [the pro-war leaders] should be locked up -- what they are doing is a crime."

The march spread several blocks and was led by Australian actors Heath Ledger, Naomi Watts and Joel Edgerton. The crowd chanted:

Quote

"George Bush go to hell, we won't fight a war for Shell" and brandished banners saying "No blood for oil" and "We are all terrorists."

Why don't these nuts understand that if we wanted the oil, we would have taken it in 1991?
Ledger supports the King of the Halfwits, Michael Moore, who used his acceptance speech to say troops had been sent to Iraq for "fictitious" reasons. Ledger clapped his hands and described Moore's speech as "fantastic" after it was read to him. He went on:

Quote

"It is not a fight for humanity. It is a fight for oil and screw it and screw them. I think we should all pull out and leave a peaceful existence down here."
