(1) Obviously, we would end discrimination against gays serving openly in the military. We are in a war, people, and y'all have to accept the fact that your gay neighbor has a hell of a lot more in common with you than some Wahabbi a**hole.

(2) Flat income tax at 21%, except for active duty military personnel and disabled vets, who would pay 7%.

(3) Only other federal tax besides the above FIT: A flat tax of $75,000 on any automobile or SUV that gets less than 13 MPG. We are in a war, people, and the enemy is funded by oil revenues.

(4) Elimination of the U.S. Dept of Education....because education worked better when the states and localities were 100% in charge.

(5) Elimination of the $1 bill, because (i) the Crane family of Massachusetts (who make the paper for U.S. currency) are rich enough already and (ii) I want the Saccy $1 coin to succeed.

(6) Prevention of the coming nuclear arms race in East Asia by this simple means: nuke all 43 known North Korean nuclear sites.

(7) Pass a constitutional amendment providing for (i) the jailing for one year per abortion performed of anyone who performs abortion and (ii) a tax credit equal to 50% of any monies given to a crisis pregnancy center or other charity that actually helps unwed mothers or other women who might be tempted to have abortions.

(8) Victory in Iraq by the following means: Nuke Fallujah, Samarra, Tikrit and Ramadi. Then leave.

There was only one I strongly disagree with, and it was probably the least important anyway..........LOL.............

You said - "(5) Elimination of the $1 bill, because (i) the Crane family of Massachusetts (who make the paper for U.S. currency) are rich enough already and (ii) I want the Saccy $1 coin to succeed."

LOL. I truly hope this never comes to pass.

Coins were OK way back in the days when a couple of dollars could actually buy something. I suppose a hundred years ago or so, you could go out with two or three dollars and actually have enough money to last all day!

But alas, no longer. The people who keep trying to make new coins "succeed" seem to be overlooking one very basic and insurmountable problem - Who wants to lug around huge, heavy, inconvenient piles of coins everywhere they go?

Think about it carefully. Suppose you are carrying, say, one hundred dollars. Years ago, that might have been "a lot of money", but nowadays it's hardly exceptional. No matter what combination of bills, a hundred bucks is easy and convenient enough to have on your person (or in your purse, if you're a woman). Whether it's one $100 bill, or two fifties, or five twenties, or ten tens, or whatever. Heck, even a hundred one dollar bills can be carried without too much inconvenience or discomfort.

But now picture carrying around a hundred heavy coins in your pocket! And remember, there are lots of times when one needs a lot more than a hundred dollars. I suppose it would be a huge boon to clothing manufacturers (especially makers of men's pants), because pockets wouldn't last more than a week or two before giving way completely to the undue weight and constant shifting of coin-edges.

No $1 coin will ever succeed, or be even remotely "convenient", unless the cost of daily living could somehow magically be rolled back to the level of hundreds of years ago. If anything, we should be trying to phase out unnecessary coins whenever possible.

Just my two dollars.........er..........cents..................

Well, I liked 62.5% of your ideals. Which is probably about 15% more than any of the other Presidential nominees that have been suggested for 2008.

21% of my current base pay is $809.55. I pay 939.46 each month right now. 21% would only drop it by $129.91. $269.85 = 7% for me. That would be great. As much as I would love to see a flat tax, I don't think that would sit well with the Federal Government , who's idea of a "budget" is to spend way beyond our means.
