Do you wonder why Stern was Fired?
Recently, the FCC cracked down on indecent shows due to public complaints. Congress passed a bill that raised the maximum rates to $500,000 instead of $27,000. Stern's Six Markets were penalized for a total of 18 violations. Here is the FCC Link, which outlines each violation:

Stern is
Quote
My days here are numbered because I dared to speak out against the Bush administration and say that the religious agenda of George W. Bush concerning stem cell research and gay marriage is wrong. And that what he is doing with the FCC is pushing this religious agenda. And also the fact that the guy takes more vacation than any President ever. It's time for him to leave. Having said that pushed me off the air in six markets.

If you don' t think me going after Bush got me thrown off those stations, you got another thing coming, said Stern. This has nothing to do with anything I said.

Exposing Stern's overstatements about FCC Chairman Michael Powell
Quote
Uh, this guy, Michael Powell, the son of Colin Powell, who is not elected to public office, he’s telling us what we (interrupted by Letterman).
Letterman: Chairman of the FCC
Stern: Chairman of the FCC is telling us what we can hear.
Letterman: Let me go back to what you said earlier. You’re fighting three things: one you mentioned Clear Channel, one you mentioned the government specifically, and then the FCC as the agency of the government. How are those three organizations, or those three entities conspiring, or working, if not conspiring, against you?
Stern: Well, I mean
Letterman: Is it a conspiracy?
Stern: Yeah, it is a conspiracy. I hate to be so serious. Usually I come on here and we have lots of laughs. In fact, I’ll pull down my pants, Dave will try to rub my buttocks. It’ll be great.
