Disrespect for Commander in Chief During Wartime

Kerry adopted the "regime change" line from the chants of anti-war demonstrators.

Quote

"We need a president of the United States who has a vision of the world that is very different from what these excessively ideological unilateralists want to thrust on us and the rest of the world."

"The administration's handling of the runup to war with Iraq could not possibly have been more inept or self-defeating. President Bush has clumsily and arrogantly squandered the post 9/11 support and goodwill of the entire civilized world."

Bush Misled Us

Quote

''He misled every one of us. That's one reason why I'm running to be president of the United States.''

''I will not let him off the hook throughout this campaign with respect to America's credibility and credibility to me because if he lied he lied to me personally.''

Mr. Kerry voted in favor of the Iraq war resolution. He did so, he now says, with the understanding that Mr. Bush would exhaust every remedy first. What was the big hurry, in other words.

But let's revisit Nov. 17, 1997, when the Inside the Beltway column led with an item headlined, "Finish the mission."

Debate on whether to take out Saddam Hussein, the Iraqi strongman, is over as far as one Democratic senator is concerned. Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts is calling for a "strong" military attack in response to the Iraqi leader's "horrific objective of amassing a stockpile of weapons of mass destruction."

Weapons of mass destruction? That's what Mr. Kerry called them.

"Saddam Hussein should pay a grave price, in a currency that he understands and values, for his unacceptable behavior," says Mr. Kerry. "This should not be a strike consisting only of a handful of cruise missiles hitting isolated targets primarily of presumed symbolic value. But how long this military action might continue and how it may escalate ... and how extensive it would reach are for the [White House National] Security Council and our allies to know and for Saddam Hussein to find out!"

Kerry Unleashes Foulmouthed Attack On Bush
Struggling 2004 Democratic wannabe John Kerry fires an X-rated attack at President Bush over Iraq and uses the f-word - highly unusual language for a presidential contender - in a stunning new interview with Rolling Stone magazine.

Quote

"I voted for what I thought was best for the country. Did I expect Howard Dean to go off to the left and say, 'I'm against everything'? Sure. Did I expect George Bush to f - - - it up as badly as he did? I don't think anybody did," Kerry told the youth-oriented magazine.
