The President is a Liar

Quote

"'The president has lied to the American people,' he exclaims. 'We were misled, or worse, about Saddam Hussein's possession of weapons of mass destruction, his ties to al-Qaeda, his threat to the rest of the world. This is an impeachable offence. Now the president is emphasising the 'liberation of the Iraqi people' because that's the only reason left. Everything else has been shown to have been phoney. More people are getting killed and injured every day while his propaganda enriches corporations and the president's friends, not to mention his re-election campaign. But as long as he beats the drum of war and struts as a wartime president, he's able to camouflage what is essentially a losing presidency and inoculate himself from impeachment.'"

It Was About Oil

Quote

"'He [Bush] comes from a petroleum culture that has always looked askance at Saddam Hussein sitting on 110 billion barrels of oil,' Nader says. 'The control of oil has always animated American foreign policy. It just hasn't been so blatantly associated with military invasions. There are other ways for oil companies to assert their control -- through the state department, government aid, negotiating with foreign potentates. But this is an extreme.'"

Nader Calls Bush 'Dictator'

Quote

“The war in Iraq developed … from ‘a messianic militaristic determination turned by a closed mind, facilitated by a cowering Congress and opposition Democrat Party and undeterred by a 'probing' press.’…Bush is acting ‘in effect as a selected dictator … For a cheap political advantage, the administration will destroy freedoms and civil rights, undermine our economy and destroy the position of the United States in the world."
