Representative from Virginia

Jews Are To Blame For The War
Moran was condemned by Jewish groups after he made what they said were anti-Semitic slurs at an antiwar forum in Reston, Va.
Quote
“If it were not for the strong support of the Jewish community for this war with Iraq, we would not be doing this. The leaders of the Jewish community are influential enough that they could change the direction of where this is going, and I think they should."

“He was unquestionably sorry that he had said it, but it wasn’t my impression that he understood the gravity of his words as a member of Congress having said those words,” said Rabbi Jack Moline after a 45-minute phone conversation with Moran. “It strikes me then, as it does now, that he was far more concerned about what it would mean for his political life than the damage it caused to the Jewish community.”
Moline remembers Moran’s plea: “He said, ‘Tell me what I need to do and I’ll do it. Help me out here. What do I need to do?’”
"The charge that war with Iraq is the result of Jewish pressure is outrageous, offensive and baseless," leaders of the Anti-Defamation League wrote in a letter to Moran.
Jews Are Plotting Against Him
Jim Moran, the appeasement activist who sparked an uproar when he blamed Jews for "this war with Iraq," is at it again.
Jewish groups are furious with Moran's new claim that American Israel Public Affairs Committee is plotting against him.

Officials with Anti-Defamation League said the statement confirms that Moran is a bigot who perpetuates "age-old canards and stereotypes about Jews."
Moran's history of nutty behavior, the Associated Press pointed out, includes "taking questionable campaign cash, shoving a fellow congressman, grabbing an 8-year-old boy and speaking of punching President Clinton."
I oppose it, but that doesn't mean I won't do it.
Talking to those attending the Arlington County Democratic Committee's annual Jefferson-Jackson Day dinner, Moran said that while he opposes "earmarks", he understands they are valuable to constituents.
