Celebrity Supporters of President George W. Bush

This is a list of celebrities who specifically support President Bush. It does not include Republicans who do not speak out; it does not include those who simply support the troops. They have to, either in voice or deeds, show support for the president.

If you have any additions, changes or comments, post a message to the this topic.

Alabama
"We are very proud to be in the hometown of George W. Bush," said lead singer Randy Owen before leading the crowd through America the Beautiful.
The comment was a purposeful response to Dixie Chick Natalie Maines' disparaging remarks about the president and his military agenda last week. Owen's pro-Bush stance was met by one of the strongest crowd affirmations of the rodeo's 20 days.

Cruise, who plays the lead in Spielberg's sci-fi movie "Minority Report," which opens in Rome today, was more reserved [than Spielberg] but came down on the side of the U.S. president.
"Personally I don't have all the information that President Bush has, but I believe Saddam has committed many crimes against humanity and against his own people," Cruise said.
"We got to kill that mother-[bleeper] Saddam," he says. "Slit his throat. Kill him and the guy in North Korea." Are some women and children going to die? "Yeah. But is doing the right thing. You got money, you sit around talking about peace. People who don't have money need some help."...
”Obviously, no one likes war. Our Congress and President tried hard to avoid the use of force, but ultimately decided it was the best course of action. That's nice of them. Jean-Claude Van Damme could revive his career. I kind of missed him. Some of them I always will respect them, while some of them I can careless or hate them.

I've never really been a big fan of Van Damme, but I've got to admit, I like that "axis of ignorance" bit. :(

Actually yes, about a month ago she went on record in an interview as saying she supports and believes in President Bush. In November of 2001 she did a special concert that was on HBO and broadcast it to several military installations across the country.

I'm sure the Motor City Madman, the Damndest Yankee of them all, Terrible Ted Nugent, had said some things also. So lets not forget Ted has always been in this fight. Not that he's a "hollywood" person as he's mostly music, but look at all the idiots in the music industry that have chimed in with their stupidity. His father, by the way, was career military.
Don't forget 3 Doors Down also.

One thing that I don't understand is that Dave Matthews, while acknowledging how bad Saddam Hussein is, doesn't think he should have been dealt with in the way he was.

How about Kelsey Grammer of "Frasier:

Quote

Actor Kelsey Grammer, who plays the lead role in NBC's "Frasier" sitcom, said he refused to watch this year's Academy Awards because of the anti-war "crap" that fellow celebrities spewed.

Grammer said he was spared filmmaker Michael Moore's anti-war acceptance speech and attack on the Bush administration at the March 23rd Academy Awards. "I didn't hear it because I didn't watch [the Academy Awards], Grammer told CNSNews.com.

"I wasn't interested. I knew that that kind of crap was going to be there and I thought, I am not interested," Grammer added.

While accepting an Oscar for his anti-gun documentary "Bowling For Columbine," Moore said, "We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons...Shame on you, Mr. Bush, shame on you."

Grammer called Moore's movie "a one-sided film" and blamed the media for giving so much publicity to Moore's anti-war speech.

"The media just loves to pay attention to whatever is happening that makes the most noise," Grammer explained.

Or Jason Priestly of 90120

Quote

Jason Priestley of "Beverly Hills 90210" television fame, agreed with Grammer and lamented the excessive coverage of anti-war celebrities by what he termed the "liberal media."

"I think more people should keep their opinions to themselves," Priestley said. He was particularly incensed by Moore's acceptance speech.

"It was shocking. I did not believe that was the forum to voice your opinions. Michael Moore is allowed to have opinions and his opinions are valid like everyone else's opinion, but I just didn't think the Academy Awards were the place to voice them in that manner," he explained.

Actor Rober Duvall:

Quote

"They should keep their mouths shut," Duvall said.

And there are many other upstanding Celebrities in the article

So it's laudable when celebrities speak out in favour of a Republican, but it's contemptible when they speak out against a Republican?

Well, actually its the way they do it. They can't just say they don't agree with him or like him, they have to call him an f***ing idiot, say they are ashamed they are from Texas because he is, etc... Its contemptable the way they go about it. They only make themselves look stupid.

QB, go back into your little spider hole.
No conservative celebrity ever compared Clinton with Hitler, or wished for all the US soldiers to die in Kosovo, or anything like that. Take a look at the comments made by celebs on both sides of the political spectrum before you post your asinine comments just trying to infuriate people.

Quote

Shortly after we went into Afghanistan I volunteered for the USO... I'm just an individual who supports the troops no matter who is in the White House. The troops are the troops, they defend our country and deserve our support.

Gary Sinise visits Aviano AIR BASE, Italy (USAFENS) July 8, 2003

Quote

The appreciation for such visits is mutual, said Bagley. “I’ve seen about three celebrity USO visits in my Air Force career, and each one really lifted spirits. It’s nice to know that despite some celebrities who are so vocally against us, there are those out there who really do support the military and will come all this way to show us.

(Master Sgt. Steven Bagley, 31st Communications Squadron, brought his wife, Jennifer, and their son, Travis, to meet the celebrity)

Good man, I doubt Gary will ever be pinned a UN friend for this great service. Some are mice (99% of Hollywood celebrities), and some are Men.

I haven't gone to the New York Daily News, but I got this from James Hirsen's Left Coast Report about JERRY BRUCKHEIMER:

Quote

According to the New York Daily News, Bruckheimer said that "eventually we'll realize that we did the right thing by removing a brutal dictator. I know I'm in the minority, but I like Bush."

For one of Hollywood's biggest producers--and certainly the industry's most famous and popular--Like is a strong word for someone in his position.

Or it's OK when Bill Maher made pot shots against Bush, but Rush Limbaugh better be grovelling at Clinton's feet and begging his mercy?

It's OK when Susan Surrandon said Bush was "more dangerous than Bin Laden", but we should mind our p's and q's and worship the ground Clinton walked on?

Kinda like that?

Nick you're as irrelevant as they come..... you bash Bush for committing troops to Iraq but refused to point the finger at your own PM for doing the same.

Actually that should read "It's laudable when a celeb speaks out for what they can prove is right and should be held in contempt when they are completely wrong".

Let's all chip in and buy QB Nick some books...his word count is getting low.
