I was labeled the Anti-Christ for posting this in another forum.

Anyway, this is my plan to reform welfare and cut our spending by billions.

1. Require all recipients work a minimum number of hours in the public sector in return for their check. (on the job training)

2. Require all recipients to attend job training programs a minimum number of hours in return for their check. (formal job training)

3. Require all recipients to submit an “exit plan” outlining personal benchmarks that case workers can monitor as they work towards their self reliance. (puts responsibility back on them)

4. Require all recipients to undergo chemical sterilization until they are no longer on public aid. (Birth control, big brother style. I'm sorry, seen too many women get pregnant in an effort to not go to work and men not working should not be producing more children for the state to support. Someday I should tell you about my liberal family, especially my niece.)

5. Require public disclosure of all recipients in the local paper. (I don’t want to hear any right to privacy crap on this. You waive your "rights" to this when the public is paying for you to live-the potential for shame is a great motivator. The other reason for this one is that those who aren’t entitled will be found out sooner.)

6. Require those who have utilized benefits to repay an additional 2% of their income once employed until the amount they were awarded is repaid. (It is temporary aid, right? Well when they are back on their feet they can pay it back so others in need can "borrow"!)

7. Stiffer penalties for those who commit welfare fraud. So, the woman claiming she is a single parent to get benefits while the child’s father lives there should go to jail, lose said child, and be ineligible for any sort of aid in the future. As should the man who helps perpetuate the lie. (again, my niece is a great case study in welfare fraud and abuse)

8. Allow only American born or naturalized citizens aid. (this was the one I took the most abuse on. I pointed out that in Texas anyone who makes it over the border is eligible for WIC. I did the math and figure about 4 billion a year in WIC benefits are spent on illegals in the US if you use only 10% of those said to be here illegally collecting @ 100.00 a month--I am sure both numbers are much higher though.)

9. Provide early intervention services for children of parents receiving aid to teach job skills, etc. (Too many of those on aid came from parents on aid)

10. Cap aid at 6 months, period. Anyone can find a job in 6 months. It may not be glamorous but it is a job. If someone has a repeat “need” they must go before a panel to determine if it is warranted and what factors outside their control contributed that should allow them access to funds.

So, step one of my platform is to stop the entitlement mentality we are living under.

This is my favorite line! Hope you use it as part of your platform speeches!
