MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle Mocks Critics Of Socialism: ‘Oh My Gosh! It’s Gonna Take All My Money!’

Big Journalism

By Robert Kraychik

3 Aug 2018

Excerpt:

MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle mocked Americans’ aversion to socialism Friday during a discussion panel on effective midterm messaging for the Democratic Party.

Ruhle told her guests that a “powerful, nuanced argument” for socialist policies could come from candidates promising to “take care of the cost of health care” — yet, she lamented, too many Americans never get that for in the conversation. “Oh my gosh! Socialist! I can’t have that!” she exclaimed, putting on a parodic Midwestern accent. “It’s gonna take all my money!”

She was joined by Financial Times (FT) U.S Editor Brendan Greeley, who described socialism as a desirable and “not radical.”

Ruhle also described President Donald Trump as advancing policies that are “the opposite” of “patriotism,” adding, “[Republicans] have hijacked the word ‘patriot.’”

Idiots. None of them have any idea what they are talking about. No comprehension of the cost to implement Free health care for all.

Forget the labels they are attempting, poorly I might add, to define. They are clueless to how this would fail miserably.

We are not Denmark. We are a 300 million plus nation. Free healthcare would cripple this country financially.

Deep thinkers these morons are not.

This clueless ass is editor of the Financial Times?? LOLOLOLOL, clearly he's in way over his head.

Ruhle also described President Donald Trump as advancing policies that are “the opposite” of “patriotism,” adding, “[Republicans] have hijacked the word ‘patriot.’”

Rather ironical statement coming from a leftist, who have hijacked the word "liberal".

And why is health care so expensive? I'd pay real money to have any one of them debate Thomas Sowell on the matter

That would be a rewarding experience. The elegant Dr. Sowell would make mincemeat out of them before they even knew they'd been sliced.

Nuanced argument yeah right. Guess what, there is NO RIGHT for the government to seize money from one person and give it to another. No where in the Constitution does it say the government has a RIGHT to do that.

We need HUAC II.

Hopefully, THIS time it won't be distracted by a side-show freak of a Senator who ended up doing more harm than good.

Go ahead, Jeer or Flame away. But, to my dying day, I will NEVER believe that "Tailgunner Joe" was anything more than a communist plant for the purpose of stealing HUAC's thunder and then going so over-the-top as to make them a laughingstock. And the after-effects last to this day.

May The Almighty have mercy on my soul if I'm wrong. But, to my dying breath, I don't believe that I am.

Given the level of intelligence and courtesy in discourse the left displays, Dr. Sowell would be shouted over during the entirety of his attempt to educate them, thus wasting his valuable time and efforts to show them in vivid Technicolor what ignorant aholes they are.

After listening to

, it seems the Dr. is dead tired of offering knowledge to people too stupid to take it.

You may wish to read Ann Coulter's heavily documented "Treason" and see what you think.

Sorry, I prefer to read more serious works on that issue. Arthur Herman's bio of McCarthy etc.

So who are the real Nazi's? This is another progressive myth. That Nazi's leaned right. This completely disproves that.

Have you read Coulter's very annotated book? I consider her a very serious author who uses humor to make her points.

I'll take you BOTH up on that. Not generally a fan of Coulter - way to shrill for me - and never heard of Arthur Herman. But if either or both can lead me to a better understanding of McCarthy, I'm open.

Leaned right. YES, in the perspective of the era. Key word being "leaned". Germany and Italy of the '20s, You had two choices: Communists or Nazis (or Fascists in Italy). The Nazis and Fascists were decidedly the MORE "right" of the two.

I would LOOSELY compare to Dems v Republicans. Are Republicans "Right"??? By and large, as a whole, not necessarily all that far right. But decidedly MORE right than the Dems.

It would SUCK to be a German voter of the '20s, where the only choice was Communists or Nazis. Given ONLY that choice? YES - dare I say it - I'd have held my nose and voted for Hitler. Or Mussolini.

Pop Quiz: 2020 election. Assume for the sake of discussion that DJT declines a second term. And assume that the candidate come down to either Hillary Clinton on the left or Alesandra Mussolini on the "Right". And assume for that sake of discussion that AM could run in a US election.

I know, without hesitation, what my choice would be. What's yours?

SERIOUSLY. Suppose for the sake of discussion the two choices in 2020 are:

Yeah, well, that's the choice that Germany and Italy had in the '20s

Good for you. I don't and never have, even when she was flavour of the month. Yes, I have read her books and a lot of her writing. One and off for over a decade. And I have criticised her on here for that length of time, and at one time got a lot of flak for doing so. When she was flavour of the month here and in rightist circles. Then over time, I have noted some RN'ers have become far less fans of hers. As Smithee says, WAYYY too shrill and crude. I consider her a screeching harpie and not remotely serious as a commentator. She is the Big Mac of conservative opinion: vaguely entertaining in a soundbyte way, just so long as you cant take her seriously. Some of the stuff she has written has been truly awful and her humour is as subtle as a flaming brick thrown through a window, wrapped in poo. She is to serious political and cultural comment what Howerd Stern is to serious radio and serious culture. Compare her to someone like Krauthammer, whom we have just lost.

And she used writers/historians like Herman and Haynes and others in her books, without their scope, depth and subtlety. Her stuff is disposable at best. The sort of books you read once and then pass onto the charity shops.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I've read a lot of history and have learned that bias is an endemic part of writing history. We each look at it through our own window of experience.

The houses and real estate holdings are in Bernie's wife's name. The sports car was written off as part of a campaign contribution (transport between functions). Sound familiar?

You proletarians are not allowed to question this. There is a work camp in Siberia with your name on the bunk, Tovarich.
