Yes I know. I've read the 1959-60 article and seen the subsequent film.

It was called "White Like Me", which is a spoof on a 1960's film by white author Blake Griffith called "Black Like Me". Black Like Me was an experiment where the author darkened his skin and traveled through the deep, Jim Crow south to experience what it's truly like to be black.

I need to look this up. I'm a few years behind y'all. For ME it was Guess whose Coming to Dinner (1967) with an EXCELLENT performance by Sidney Poitier and with Spencer Tracy as the quintessential "White Guy".
