So what?

FOX news sucks and so does Shepard Smith.

He may have made a scene (my bet is that he definitely did because he is a drama queen) and probably deserved the bum's rush out of the front door like that?

My bet is that his unannounced live on the air resignation stunt had really pissed off the management enough to warrant the bums rush treatment? He didn't receive the time for his co-workers to wish him well with hugs? Too bad, too sad! Serves you right! Just like Megan Kelly!

But, he has one point correct in that FOX sucks big time ever since Roger Ailes had died.

FOX was going downhill long before that, but it's really gone to hell in a hand basket and is now every bit just as bad as the rest of the libtarded/proggy run lamestream media and they lie just as much.

Again, I hope that we've seen the last of Shepard Smith on TV or anywhere else in the media.

I'm glad that I had dropped my cable TV service back in 2017. I never have regretted that.

Meh. He's always been an arrogant ass.

I was done with him (and TV "news") after Katrina.

Yeah, when Shep joined the parade and conveniently blamed Bush for what went down in NOLA instead of their incompetent boob of a mayor, due to him him simply being black

Hated Shep ever since.

FOX NEWS Escorts Shepard Smith Out of the Building Like a Common Criminal

Shocking details about FOX News icon Shepard Smith's surprise on-air resignation on Friday are now leaking from FOX colleagues.

"He (Shep) was immediately escorted out of the building," one FOX insider told True Pundit. "Absolutely no one knew what he planned to do but literally minutes after he made the announcement on air he was escorted from the building."

Staff members who were shocked by Smith's resignation were further bewildered by the news icon being removed by security from the FOX News set and whisked out of the building onto the sidewalk.

Smith wasn't even allowed to go back to his office.

"There were gasps in the newsroom," the FOX insider said. "Total shock."

Then Smith was approached by security on the set.

"It never used to be this way under Roger (Ailes)," the FOX insider said. "They respected their employees. But the place has gone down hill now.

"That's total disrespect. Right out of the building in seconds."

Smith did not stop to converse with emotional colleaugues who wanted to wish him a farewell and instead was rushed from the building.

"It looked like he didn't want to be bothered," the insider said. "He can be a <censored> like that. He's a guy you either love or hate."

He planned this and he will go to a competitor, so if he didn’t alert his bosses then he absolutely should have been escorted off the set. This happens in MANY different professions. He will be able to go back in and get his personal effects at a time of their choosing when it won’t negatively affect Fox......as it should be. All that said, I had no problem with him. I can handle a network that criticizes all sides equally. I don’t wampnt a right wing version of MSNBC.

He wasn't merely criticizing Trump or conservatives.

Smith was telling outright lies and personally attacking him as well as other conservatives.

There is a difference.

I’m not buying this story. I also read that he left HIS security people.

Plus, his on air resignation was scripted. FOX N brass had to know.

Why everything has to be so dramatic is tiring. Dude left. Big f’n deal.

Makes no difference to me as I don’t watch FNC.

I think I read that he can't go to a competitor for a while because of a non-compete clause.

I just thought it was kind of suspicious this happened right after Trump's tweet about the Fox poll being so wacky but since I don't watch Fox anymore either I had no idea if Whiny Shep had anything to do with spreading the poll news or not so I had no clue. I was just enjoying a little Schadenfreude when I heard the news about Shep.

Its 1 year. Don't know if he can do print media, writing blog entries or if he can do his own Youtube stuff in the meantime though.

Let's just hope he has enough money to pay someone to stroke his enormous ego until he can get back on the air. Oh the humanity.

I'm watching the hairless hall monitor on CNN praising Smith, trashing Fox and their viewers and (of course) Trump and his supporters right now.

Let's hope that he does not have nor gets back on the air ever.

He deserves to have to flip burgers or deliver pizzas, scrub toilets, etc. for a living even if it's for the one year.

Dude was making $11 million a year. He will probably take time off, write his tell all book, and then grace us with his nonstop presence on MSNBC.

Glad I don’t have cable anymore.

Get rid of Chris Wallace and the judge and the station will be a 24 hour Trump rally.

Well, it beats having PMSNBCCNNABCCBS all doing their "I hate everything Trump or republican" 24/7. I mean; aren't we allowed to have one tv station for conservative/libertarians? Do you have to continually be greedy and want everything for those that think like you and nothing for those (a majority) that don't?

OK, I'll buck the trend. I often do.

Me, I'm sorry to see Shepard Smith go. The one thing that has always made FoxNews better than all the rest is the fact that they have presenters/anchors/pundits/contributors/etc from ALL sides. Sure, Shep's a leftie. So's Geraldo. So's Chris Wallace. So's Judge Napolitano. So's Donna Brazile. So's Jessica Tarlov. So are several others whose names escape me for the moment. But that's exactly the point: Unlike ALL the other "news" outfits, FoxNews really does make an honest effort to make sure all sides are heard from.

Anybody who thinks FoxNews is "just as bad" (i.e. leftwing) as all the others has obviously never watched Sean Hannity. Or Laura Ingraham. Or Tucker Carlson. Or Jesse Waters. Or Steve Hilton. Or Mark Levin. Or again, several others whose names escape me.

So anyhow, yes: Shepard Smith is a leftist dink. He always was a leftist dink. I don't "like" him at all. But I'm still sorry to see him leave FoxNews.

Go ahead, flame away.

Nada from me. I'm not in the 'don't-let-the-door-hit-ya' crowd.

Just because I never liked the guy, doesn't mean I hated him. But I always changed the channel when he came on.

And good Lord did the guy slather on the makeup!

Well, I can’t say I care one way of the other, he was on too early except when they had him on during one of the “OMG, the world is coming to an end!!” Red Alert Special news breaks and then I usually turned it off. Sorry, Monty after his Katrina cryfest I never watched him, just couldn’t stand his histrionics.

I agree with you that the other lefties on the station give a good counter balance for the opinion commentators. After all, CNN or MSNBC say they have “republicans”, but they are only ex-center right Never-Trumpers like Ana Navarro or David Gergen. At least Fox can honestly say it presents both sides. And you are right, they still lean much more right – Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Tucker Carlson, Jesse Waters, Mark Levin, add Judge Jeanine, and so many of their guest commentators are still solid conservatives. While I get angry sometimes watching Juan Williams or Jessica Tarlov, I do like to see the back and forth, even if my blood pressure suffers.

By the way, talking about opinion versus news, Smith was supposed to be straight news, but he always wanted to put his very biased spin on the news he presented.

Precisely. When Tucker constantly has that Clinton flunkie Richard Goodstein on is a prime example. I know he has him on just to make a fool of him, but he's beyond tiring.

What makes them fair & balanced is that UNLIKE the rest, Fox allows both sides to be heard. Sure, the leftists who appear on Fox for the most part just follow the script like the mindless puppets they are, and spout a bunch of lies. But then Fox allows the lies to be thoroughly debunked by the other side.

If they only allowed rightwingers to appear they'd be no better than CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NBC, NYT, LAT, PBS, NPR, etc.

Re - the part I bolded & enlarged: No need to be sorry! I don't like him either.

I just like the balance at Fox because it's better balanced than anywhere else. A "news" station that presented only the rightwing talking points would be no better than CNNMSNBCCBSABCNPRPBS etc.

We agree on this. I guess I just meant I don't care if he is gone. I like that Fox still has actual lefties to debate - usually they get cut off at the knees. Although sometimes it is annoying to listen to them. Better to listen while they are on Fox then try to listen to them on CNN. :biglaugh:
