Virginia City That Voted Obama Twice Just Threw Democrats Out Of Office

Scott Morefield Reporter

Three Democratic members of the Staunton, Virginia, city council were ousted by Republicans on Tuesday despite receiving more votes than they did four years ago.

Republican candidates Mark Robertson, Amy Darby, and Steve Claffey all joined incumbent Andrea Oakes in a four-seat GOP sweep, WHSV reported. The three incoming council members replaced Democratic incumbents Erik Curren, Ophie Kier, and James Harrington all almost doubled their vote totals from 2016, yet still lost.

Local outlet Augusta Free Press reporter Chris Graham called the results “stunning almost beyond words.”

“Democrats got their voters out better than they have in a May cycle in years,” Graham wrote. “Republicans got turnout more akin to, not quite a presidential year, but approaching gubernatorial.”

Graham cited gun control legislation in the state as well as COVID-19 lockdowns as key turnout drivers for Republicans in the city.

And if the elections in November are honest (NOT something I'm taking for granted) the same thing should happen nationwide.

Yeah I know. That's why they must be fought tooth and nail. Democrats are America's enemies, plain and simple, and they must be vehemently resisted just like all of America's enemies.

They will work very hard to get those ballots sent by mail to everyone on the voter rolls, including those that are not eligible to vote.

I was listening to Alex Marlow (think that is how it is spelled) this morning and a guy in New York called in and said he received absentee ballot requests for his two dead parents. All that is said on the form is that there is a fine if they fill it out fraudulently. You know damn well that a small fine is not going to deter primitives from trying to cheat.

Rest assured I agree completely.

There are plenty of legitimate reasons for some absentee ballots - Military personnel serving overseas, citizens currently abroad, homebound citizens, etc. - But making all voting mail-in-only is just another in a long line of Democrat schemes to enable voting fraud.

Cheating. It's what Democrats do.

Rock N' Roll Right Winger

This is a good sign/indicator as to how pissed off the people are getting.

Let that anger and rage fester on into becoming even more motivation and backlash!

We agree on much Monty from the years I have been lurking/posting, in fact i think we agree in the high 90% range. You just happen to be nicer about those things than I do when talking to others. :D

My only concern is just sending the ballots out without being requested. Too many voters in areas where they outnumber the actual population.

If you think I'm "nice" now, LOL, you should've been here 17+ years ago when I first signed up. Back then I was brand-spankin'-new to computers and therefore truly naïve about online debate. Over the previous years during in-person debate I'd always found people could be persuaded by logical, factual debate, so I ignorantly presumed the same would apply online. LOL. Silly me. I've learned during the intervening years that it just ain't always so. It's true that some people can debate honestly and objectively online: Classic liberals, political independents, libertarians, some conservatives (but not all), etc. The almost invariable exception is leftists/socialists/democrats ("LSD", get it?) They simply aren't honest or mature or objective or intelligent. But that makes perfect sense; If they were honest/mature/objective/intelligent, they wouldn't be LSD's in the first place.

So anyhow, I've learned that it's the LSD's who simply don't care about facts, evidence, proof, truth, etc. They just wanna "win the argument", facts be damned.

Well, that’s exactly the issue.

Absentee/mailed-in ballots are legal and totally okay when the individual requests one. The ABSOLUTE KEY point being “requested by the individual”. Getting a ballot must work in one direction only, person —> district.

Democrats are saying “mail-in ballots already exist, this is nothing new, republicans are racist/blahblah-ist in trying to block entirely legal voting methods”. BUT THEY AREN’T LEGAL the way democrats want to run it. They want to have the voting ballot be sent district —> individuals, and get someone to collect the ballots.

Total scam. Total making up ballots and voters and how they vote. Illegal.

As I said in another thread, I was forced to request an absentee ballot for the first time since I voted at 18 and I wound up getting 2 official absentee ballots and a lot of lobbying to request my absentee ballot after receiving them.

The Dims are gearing up to steal this election and trying to lay their own sins at the feet of the GOP to act as cover.

They try to pull it off, they are going to find out what 'biting off more than you can chew' truly means.

That it is, and I tried to point that out to someone else on why what the secretary of state of doing was illegal per the law.
