'Antifa kid' who smashed a police car and incited riots in Pittsburgh is escorted into custody — by his mom and dad

Brian Bartels, the 20-year-old man who police say turned a protest into a riot on Saturday in Pittsburgh, turned himself in to law enforcement Monday — escorted by his mom and dad.

He faces charges of institutional vandalism, rioting, and reckless endangerment of another person, according to police.

Law enforcement had been investigating the destruction of a police SUV over the weekend that had been spray-painted and then set on fire during the demonstrations.

After receiving an anonymous tip from a co-worker identifying Bartels as the culprit, police executed a search warrant at his home. During the search they found two guns, six spray paint cans, gloves, and the sweatshirt that the suspect had been wearing during the protest, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

A video had also surfaced showing a young white male smashing the police SUV's windows and tagging it with spray paint. In the video, the suspect, believed to be Bartels, can be seen dressed in all-black Antifa-like gear.

A woman attempted to stop Bartels from causing damage to the SUV, but Bartels flipped her off in refusal and continued to smash that SUV's windows.

Good. Now charge his butt with acts of terrorism and elevate it to a federal crime. Notice the parents escorted the 20 YEAR OLD child of Obama into the jail. At 20 I was in Germany defending my country. This clown at 20 is living with his parents and destroying public property. Big difference in a couple of generations.

He's no man.

He's going to be a terrific wife for someone in prison.

I'm sure his parents are going to craft the narrative that their little diddums is a courageous young man who came forward to take responsibility for his actions and lay the blame for those actions at someone else's feet.

More than likely, after someone dropped the dime on this little pischer, the parents contacted an attorney who told them to get ahead of it and turn himself in to look good to a judge.

He won't go to prison, sadly this will be plea bargained down to littering. Let the Feds come in and search his phone / internet records for ANTIFA, if it's on there charge him Federally.

Currahee!

When my uncle was a 20 year old “kid” ...... he was blown out of the nose of a B-24 over Yugoslavia in 1943....and he escaped with the help of Tito’s partisans....who were also around 20 years old.

my father was 22 and maintaining AT-6 “Texan” aircraft in Marfa, Texas....until the Army ...... in all their wisdom..... made him a light machine gunner and headed him toward the Japs......thank you Harry Truman for dropping the 💣.....I am here as a result.

THATS what 20 year olds used to do.......

I'm betting, from looking at him, he thought wow, if I act all tough and burn a cop car maybe I'll finally get some chick to lay me. When my father was 20 years old he had been in the Army Air Corp for 3 years. When I was 20 I was in school studying hard science and working for a living to pay school bills. Graduated without debt and went to work as an engineer. I didn't have time to run around acting like a rebel without a clue.

Too bad nobody opened up his house in Pittsburgh for this poor kid to go where he could escape the violence...

ST is Gen-X not millennial. Mike is still pro-skate. Did you ever expect the day when Snoop Dogg is selling car insurance and Ice-T is peddling car protection?
