Penn State Liberal Arts Retracts Welcome to Conservative Students

In a way this epitomizes the culture of leftist illiberalism even more than the Harper's letter and the responses to it. After all, Penn State Liberal Arts has 'liberal' right in its name. And in the middle of tweets promoting the institution to students, largely through the usual politically correct garbage, it added conservatives to the groups it thought needed assurances about its diversity.

“Dear Students: You Belong Here” followed by various affirmations of black, Muslim, Latinx, and LGBTQ+ students. It also had a message for conservatives: “Dear conservative students, your viewpoints are important.”

You don't have to guess too hard to imagine what happened in response to the inclusion of intellectual diversity.

Intellectual diversity is the one thing that the Left hates worse than George Washington, Israel, or the criminal justice system.

On June 12, Penn State’s College of the Liberal Arts posted a tweet in an attempt to express its “inclusive and supportive environment,” according to William Hessert, the college's director of strategic communications.

So much for inclusivity. The tweet has since been deleted.

If you read on, you’ll see the main reason they’re upset about the first tweet. Conservative students cannot be allowed to be mentioned equally or equivalently to blacks and other minorities, because they don’t experience systemic racism. I guess they think conservatives are the oppressors.

Why don’t these people try working with conservatives one of these days? They’ve only worked with democrats and how has it turned out for them. If they came to our side, they’d find out that they’re free to try to be successful in multiple different ways and no one will hold them back.

Freedom is really not a difficult idea to understand.

Agreed.

But accepting that risk is an inherent part of every effort to even try multiple different ways scares the Beejesus out of them.
They might actually have to take responsibility for their own actions and decisions.

Can't have that.

Replace professors with "social instructors" who would teach students to read, write, add, subtract, and remind the little bastards that history did not begin the day that they were born.

I do not believe in white guilt or white privilege either.

Too many people confuse freedom with comfort, usually provided to them by others, and/or their own ability to control what others say or do. For example it's stunning the amount of people who believe "hate speech" (hate speech simply being a differing opinion according to their "logic") should be illegal and punishable by law. Most every survey of today's college students show this anti-American mindset is growing.

I have nothing to be guilty for.  As for 'white privilege', my interpretation of that phrase is:

The ability to grow up in a culture centered around the nuclear family, in safe neighborhoods relatively free of crime, in communities that value hard work and education, and people who take responsibility for their own actions, and do not blame others for their failings.

If someone grows up in some drug-infested <censored> hole where education and hard work are mocked as "acting white", where the drug-addled males rut like sheep and run around killing each other while the baby mamas only close their legs long enough to cash the various government checks, it's neither my fault, nor my problem.

QED

PS. I'm not sorry if I offended anyone

Agreed. This white privilege nonsense is just another way for people to shift the blame for their own personal failures (real or imagined) to others.

Just scanning through the headlines, I originally read it as "Porn State Liberal Arts".  Probably would get a better education there.
