Well, that would be true except companies like Twitter have been given special federal statutory protections against litigation exactly to allow them to function merely as a platform and not a publisher or regulator of content. By moving into censorship of specific content, they are violating the trust that led to the special exemptions Congress gave them. Therefore, it is very much the role of Congress to have oversight as to how Twitter acts and whether it still deserves these special statutory exemptions.

I'll preface this thread with the last comment a Leftist on Facebook left me with at the end of a political discussion involving Donald Trump and how the Right elected him and changed the direction the country was headed in... "You are obviously one of the white undereducated males that LOVE Trump. I firmly believe you cant fix stupid. Remember to drink the poison wine, Inject yourself with bleach, or spray yourself with disinfectant. I wont answer you anymore, cult members are a basketful of deplorables. I didn't vote for Clinton but she sure pegged you." And she's right, by her standards I'm an undereducated white male, but there's different ways to get a higher education. Shortly after high school, I entered the Marine Corp and after completing boot camp, advanced training as an ammunition tech and a short visit home, got orders for Vietnam. I tell you this because after you've spent a year and a month in a place like Vietnam, you have a whole new appreciation for America and the generations of Americans who came before you that kept her safe. They had, like you and I now have, the responsibility to keep this great nation safe for future generations. Getting back to the smug Leftist who resorted to name calling and insults, she might be educated, but she's not bright enough to even see what's right under her nose. Without a doubt, the woman hates America. Me? I can look towards the sun warming my face and marvel that it's the same sun that warmed Christ's face over 2,000 years ago. I can read about a fossilized 66 million year old Tyrannosaurus Rex that was close to 40 feet in length, stood 12 feet at the shoulder and weighed between 7 and 8 tons and guess what? The same sun that warmed my face this morning and Christ's face 2,000 years ago, also warmed the face of that T. Rex 66 million years ago! I may not be smart, but I know a miracle when I see one and they're here if you have the ability to see them. America and our Constitution, the birth of a newborn or the source of heat that's been warming this planet for more years than we can imagine? They're all miracles! And unless you're a Leftist so blinded by your imagined superiority that you can't see the miracle of life and of America, the torch has been passed to you. And to me. We can't let this country fall into the hands of people who lack the ability to see miracles, what a tragedy it'll be if that ever happens. Just be sure to vote, if we all do that, the Haters are toast...

Four Question Blacks Owe Whites the Answers To. Black America wants something from White America. It wants acknowledgment of “white privilege,” it wants reparations, it wants to replace the nuclear family with the collective family, it wants socialism, it want exemptions from the law that the rest of us are duty bound to follow...in short, it wants a new segregated system that gives them their own style of Black Privilege within the context of of a country built on the idea that out of many, comes one people. So Black America wants this from White America, and I thought, well if they want to convince me that their demands are right and just—which is what they seem to be doing by looting and protesting against White America—it only seems correct that they answer a few of my questions first. If you want something from me, explain to me why I should give it to you. Tell me why you should be driving the bus. 1. Why should I listen to your black lives matter cries when black lives don’t matter much to you? Why do you expect me to care about black lives more than you do? You can spin it however you’d like, but the fact that is inescapable that blacks slaughter other blacks in wholesale amounts for criminal, selfish and cruel reasons. True, there are some illegal and unjust shootings by white cops against black suspects, and those deaths deserve justice. But those numbers are a tiny fraction of the black on black murders committed in one Chicago weekend alone. I don’t see any evidence that blacks really care about black lives. They may care about something, but it’s not black lives. Why don’t blacks mobilize and march on F Dog’s house in north St Louis the way they mobilized and marched in downtown St Louis? You know F Dog...the guy who deals heroin out of the duplex on Martin Luther King Drive. Go burn F Dog’s crib to the ground. See if he comes back. F Dog, Jeezy Beans, and C-Game sell dope, kill people and wreck lives. They destroy communities. They destroy black communities. When these lives matter more to blacks, black lives will matter more to me. You can’t expect me to want it more than you do. 2. On a related point, if black lives matter, why do black lives embrace music that glorifies destructive behavior? I used to work blue collar warehouse with a guy named Don. Don was from the hood and Don was a thug. But he held down a job and showed up for work. One day he and I were putting up drywall and he was playing rap music about selling drugs, f*ckin’ bitches and runnin’ ho’s. And I asked him why he listened to music like that. “It’s how life is in my hood,” he said. I didn’t pursue the conversation which took place nearly 30 years ago, but it doesn’t look like much has changed. Except for the fact that things in Don’s hood are the same if not worse, and things in Don’s city are getting burnt to a crisp. If young black men are marinating themselves in hypnotic violent messages, does any reasonable person expect this to produce peaceful behaviors? I don’t get it, but I don’t see aggressive music helping much. 3. Fatherhood. There doesn’t seem to be enough of it going around in black neighborhoods. We’ve all seen the statistics so I’m not going to bother with links. But I think it’s more than reasonable to believe children have a better chance in life when they’re raised by two parents rather than one. Where did the fathers go? Why do they go? Are the answers to those questions an inescapable fate? Do black fathers Have to go to jail? Do black fathers Have to abandon their families so they can go out at night to “run with their boyz?” I don’t understand. I can’t answer for them. Maybe to help me understand, they can start answering for themselves. But until they do, they placing an awful burden on black women to raise healthy families alone. 4. If you ARE the man, you can’t b!tch ABOUT the man. Wanda Sykes, black comedienne, coined that phrase about major American cities run by blacks. And it’s a valid point. Most large urban population centers in America are run by black democratic power systems. The mayor, the aldermen/city council, the police chief, the prosecutor, the dog catcher and on and on and on...are primarily democratic and primarily black in our largest urban areas. And it’s been that way for decades. How can you make a case for “systemic racism” as a real pox upon blacks without incriminating blacks? You can’t. Or at least not an effective one to anybody paying attention. But for those not paying attention, that is, the people who keep voting in more black democrats to operate the levers of municipal control, I would ask this: If you are so dissatisfied with the power structures in your cities, the ones that are so corrupted by “systemic racism,” why do you keep voting for the same kinds of politics generation after generation? Haven’t these people demonstrated themselves to be ineffective? Isn’t your collective intelligence insulted by black democrats who continue to allow “systemic racism” to exist and thrive on their tenured watch? Mine would be, and I would think yours would be too. Can you help me understand why it’s not? —————- Blacks have gotten so many advantages to succeeed that I don’t understand it when they don’t. At least in the large urban areas where they control everything from the executive offices through to a significant percentage of all federal government and municipal jobs. They have a wealth of entitlement programs they can access, they get an advantage in many college admissions programs, they get many breaks as minority business owners, they get preferential treatment in many hiring practices (some mandated and all legal), and for some reason they still cannot make their communities and cities work because of “racism.” Well, claiming Racism as the problem is like your football coach telling you “go team go!” on a 4th and 1. It’s a battle cry low on substance. At least to me. Which is why I have these questions. If black America wants to convince white America of the righteousness of its cause, do us the favor of answering our legitimate questions instead of calling us Racist for even daring to challenge. You want the keys to the kingdom and your own house is a mess. I’m not sure how that works, but I’m willing to listen.

What concerns me the most about what this idiot says, is the undeniable fact that a lot of people think it's a good idea. But in the face of evil, I've noticed two types of people. Those who remain glued to the ground, too terrified to take action, even if it means saving their life and the lives of others. And those who dig in their heels and stand their ground, shake their fist at the oppressors and dare them to come closer and see what happens. If you, an American, make threats that would deny your fellow Americans their freedom of worship, liberty, happiness, possessions, and more importantly, their lives, just because they don't conform to your radical ideology... Then you are no longer my fellow American. You're the enemy within, filled with malice aforethought. And you must not be allowed to follow through on your plans to radically transform this Republic.

In the days of yesteryear, you could agree to disagree but still remain friends with someone and find some common ground along the way. I dislike Redford's politics, but liked his work in Jeremiah Johnson and The Natural. The same for Gregory Peck, another Hollywood liberal. Yet aside from his politics, he was great in Twelve O Clock High and as the southern lawyer Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird. But somewhere along the way, entertainers and athletes adopted this B.S. all or nothing mentality of social justice and look upon someone with an opposing view as a menace to society. But a time of reckoning awaits them all. Life. Because if you squandered your talent, wealth, and opportunities for good will, because you thought shooting your mouth off to p*ss off people was so important to you...then don't be surprised when your time under the sun comes to an end. And then you find yourself broke and unemployable because people with long memories want nothing to do with you.

I am a huge sports fan. Played in High School, coached high school ball through college, have my man cave done in Ohio State colors. And I am done with pro sports. The NFL lost me a couple of years ago with the kneeing, but when it more or less went away I came back. This year, I am so done I refuse to even play fantasy football if they have a season. These athletes are forgetting their time on the field is us paying for them to entertain us, not for them to make political statements on our time and dollars to make them feel better about their multi-million dollar lives before they leave the stadiums in their $100,000 cars and drive home to their gated communities wearing their Nike endorsed products made by Chinese slave labor who could teach them a thing or two about real oppression.

Let me ask you this. What is more likely. That in early 2019, before Biden ever announced he was running for President, the Russians concocted this grand scheme to discredit him if he did run because they so wanted someone OTHER than Biden as President that they created this laptop and gave it to this computer shop owner again before Biden ever announced he was running just so it could be turned over to the FBI in December 2019 while Biden was still way behind in all the polls and being encouraged to drop out of the race so that, again, just in case Biden did get the nomination it could then be released to others later in 2020 to again discredit Biden because the Russians so wanted Trump to win. Or is it more likely that Biden's crack head son in early 2019 actually did drop a laptop off with a bunch of information that makes Biden look bad and he just forgot to pick it up? I think I am going with option #2 here. Occam's Razor.

Hence the reason to stop the shutdowns and get on with life. It ain't ever going away (and anyone who is honest will admit we always knew this), so stop pretending like it will, we can make it so, or we can't go back to living our lives so long as "ne cases" pop up. We will never be case free. And its not like this stuff is polio or bubonic plague. It's a bad flu. Let's just get over it already. By the way, anyone else see the news that flu cases this year are down like 95% over past years. I wonder why. Because they are listed or getting Covid instead maybe?

Health Experts Now Recommend Maximizing Social Distance By Attending A Biden Rally October 19th, 2020 Babylon Bee <More Here> U.S.—Health experts across the globe are recommending a new strategy for maximizing your social distance: attending a Joe Biden rally. Officials say there's no better place to be miles away from most other humans. "When you attend a Joe Biden rally, you're very unlikely to get infected, since, you know, there's no one else there," said one CDC official. "We've found that Trump rallies are super-spreader events since there's a ton of people. Biden rallies are great for stopping the virus. You just stand in the middle of a field while an old guy shouts from a podium hundreds of feet far away from you." "Plus, you can rest and relax. Get away from the busyness of modern life: attend a Biden rally. BIDEN-HARRIS 2020!" (snip) <More Here>

From what I’ve heard President Trump and the First Lady are not symptomatic. So, that’s good. Plus, as I understand, Trump has been on a precautionary regimen of Hydroxychloroquin (sp?), zinc and other things. The President has doctors with him 24/7. He’s going to get the top shelf medicine, count on that. He’ll beat this and the market and his campaign will rally back bigly.

This woman just informed these privileged, trust fund, Soyviet Cuck Marxists, that it is in fact she who controls the narrative they appropriated from all the local black communities they previously invaded with their pachuli laced b.o. body funk and butch waxed snot locked beta brigades. She let them know that if she were to 'imply' that they called her racial slurs, this would be a very bad night for them. An then, behold, the unbathed sea of doughy faced millennial incels and their she-dweeb cohorts parted like a curtain of monochromatically dressed simple carbohydrate based life forms from planet "duh?" Maybe another drug addled violent thug with a decades long criminal history will assault some local policemen, forcing them to put him down in the execution of their lawfull duties. And VOILA! A brand new martyr, wholy crafted from the remains of another useless parasitic piece of human detritus with the proper skin color and drooping pants, will be foisted upon an unsuspecting democrat mayor too weak and stupid to send these breve latte slurping Beta Bolshevicks back home to mommy and the new replacement for daddy-she calls, "Brad".

Hey, Salsa Trapsink! White people HAVE been twice as kind. Are you familiar with affirmative action? That's a program that puts people of color, with lower grades into colleges with full ride scholarships while white students with better grades, and equally NO MONEY, get nothing. It's a program that puts less qualified candidates into jobs that they are not capable of doing by themselves, while white candidates who ARE qualified to do the job themselves get turned away. You see, that extra kindness is what has taught SOME people of color that they should get what they want SIMPLY based on the color of their skin, without having to put any effort into anything to achieve it, JUST GIVE IT TO ME BECAUSE I'M ________________. They don't understand what it is to simply be an American, they have to be a hyphenated American, and they have to have special privileges OTHER than being an American to achieve something because they don't want to have to work for what they have in their lives. You'd be surprised at the number of Americans of varying colors who don't think the way you do, because they live their lives as Americans, no hyphens required. They go to school and work hard to get good grades, which is what EVERY student regardless of color should do. They apply for jobs and get hired based on their qualifications, not a special metric applied to them to give them a leg up in the process. They read articles like yours and become deeply offended that someone spews this kind of garbage because YOU are the racist and bigot displaying your ignorance from a very large pulpit, and other ignorant people are buying your swill. To perpetuate that mindset is insulting to EVERYONE.

A couple of things. Richard Rose served in Iraq and Afghanistan. There is no mention of any wounds or injuries that he might have sustained. Most people who die from Wuhan flu do so because it complicates pre-existing conditions. Especially any pulmonary ones such as asthma or lung damage from inhaling diesel fuel after being hit by an IED. Second, he came to his conclusion and made his decision. He passed away a free man. Isn't that what the left is always saying? "My body, my choice"? Complete strangers piling on a corpse with "I told you so"? Is that the lesson here? This isn't a cautionary tale. It's another morality fail.

Are you joking, That Guy? After the Democrats turned Kavanaugh's confirmation hearings into a circus of slander and character assassination, it is more than comical for anyone either Democrat or Never-Trump to complain that Trump is lowering public trust in the Supreme Court. Nor is the Supreme Court itself concerned with public opinion. If they were, they would not have flouted public opinion by imposing same-sex marriage on the country in the face of referenda and legislation which prohibited it. Trump's election is a clear demonstration that the established politicians, including a dozen Republicans, squandered public trust in the federal government, which is now at its lowest point in history according to Gallup. Our government, including the Supreme Court, does not have a trust problem. They have a trustworthiness problem. Trump has capitalized on it but he did not cause it.

Roe is flawed because the court said “if science cannot determined when life begins, then neither can we.” So it permitted abortions. Unfortunately, that mindset contradicts itself. If you dont know when life begins, then you have no business permitting abortions because you just might be killing life when you do that. Erick knows this, so he likes to lead you down the rabbit hole and center his arguments on rights of the mother, illegal searches and other superfluous arguments that are subordinate to the central issue. Are you killing people or not when you commit an abortion? None of the rest matters unless you solve that first.

Well, Ms. Whiney, I appreciate you being so open about being a racist and a bigot. I also admire your boldness in publicly owning your own monumental hypocrisy by lecturing others about the unfairness and unacceptability of racism while yours is in full plumage. I can remember waaaaaay back in the day when I did tune in and watch her show on the reruns overnight and she would do shows about sexual abuse and talk about being sexually abused by a family member and becoming pregnant and that she delivered the child but that it did not survive. I also remember how she talked about getting her start as a reporter at a local affiliate station, and if I am not mistaken, the person who gave her her big break was a man who saw her potential, and he happened to be white. She's gotten hard knocks from all sorts of people through her early years, i'm sure, JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, but apparently the more money you have in your bank account, the more you're entitled to lecture everybody else with your revenue based expertise. And, not to put too fine a point on it, Ms. Whiney, as your hero and messiah Ovomit said so famously, YOU didn't build your billion dollar empire, OTHER PEOPLE did that, and a lot of those folks were the same white people you're now insulting. What a crass act you are, Ms. Whiney.
